Ok, enough with the stuff about Microsoft stealing windows from MAC. Apple stoled it first. This is a fact and is well known in the computer industry. What goes around comes around. Macs may or may not catch up with PCs, I don't know. I will stick with my PC because I am waiting for Linux to get really user friendly and then I will switch permanantly. I have one computer dedicated to Linux but don't feel it is worth the hassle right now to keep messing with it so it will do what I want. Soon, real soon, linux will be a big competitor to Windows.

I am curious, take a look at Xandros V3 and see how close that Distro is coming to what YOU want?

Would you care to predict which year that will happen?

One more reason why I find it hard to get indignant over software piracy.

"Soon, real soon, linux will be a big competitor to Windows."

It isn't far away now. Some Freeper turned me on to the Knoppix CD Linux boot. It comes right up and works like a charm, so the install problem is solvable. KDE is very usable, I consider it about win98 level but with security and stable, which wasn't that bad.

I'm not saying Linux beats windows, I'm justy saying it isn't bad now and time is on its side.
