I read on another thread that it was a pickup that the agent acquired. Which is it?

I read that about the pickup also. And one of the first reports of the incident that I read said the Italians were travelling in an either dark or black Mercedes--but I can't find that article so maybe I dreamed it. Also, I've read references to the Italians travelling in a 'convoy'.

I took the pickup reference to mean that Calipari drove it to pick Sgrena up at the transfer point. Supposedly, at least four Italians were in the vehicle when the firing incident happened...a driver, another security officer, Sgrena & Calipari. That's a lot of people to put in a pickup...a conventional one, that is. I'd think that changing vehicles would be SOP, so, taking everything into consideration, I doubt that a 'pickup' is the vehicle we're looking for.

Just read a Rowan Scarborough column in the WT...he said 'pickup' and that the 'truck' was being shipped back to Italy 'for examination by ballistic experts'.

At this point, looks like the vehicle in question is anybody's guess.
