If you'll write the screenplay, we can document the history of the CBS nightly news. In my estimation, it will be every bit as, if not more, accurate than anything they will ever produce.

I don't believe Cronkite would have survived the scrutiny of the new media.
I think Cronkite is resentful and somewhat, rightfully so. Cronkite retired much earlier than Dan because he felt he could not stay any longer, little did he know. Cronkite was also resentful because he produced something Dan couldn't, ratings. CBS has gone down the toliet not because they are more liberal than the other networks, but because they allowed all the aged Depends generation to hang around too long, such as Wallace, Rooney, and Rather. A fresh liberal talking head newsreader goes farther than the dinosaurs on CBS, just look at ABC and NBC.
Rooney's daughter, Emily, has an excellent nightly show on WGBH in Boston. She's an unabashed Dem, but at least she is honest and doesn't hide where she is coming from.
And another brick crumbles. Hopefully it won't be replaced.
So what about Scheiffer? Is he an honest old fart or is he more of the same? I havent paid much attention to Scheiffer so im not sure.
Shifty Schieffer is just as much a leftwing, red eyed, anti American as Rather.
