This is important though. As much as I support the original intent of the Minutemen, if they are truely infiltrated, this will backfire.
I saw closed message board posts talking about infiltrating this movement. There are plans to sabotage it.
Just wanted the FYI out there for consideration.

Angered the mexican govt? They should be assisting the US to stop illegals from crossing over. Ridiculous!
Obviously the Minutemen isn't a racist org, nor are they vigilantes (their "weapons" of choice are the cell phone and walkie-talkie). And of course they're justifiably concerned with actual racists joining their ranks. ....but those types should be fairly easy to weed out.

The Mex gov't benefits greatly from the money that illegals (in America) plug back into their economy, so of course they're angry about any effort (by American patriots) to cut off the flow of aliens into our country.
This whole thing has spun way out of control. Unfortunately, the BP played a huge role in that because THAT IS WHAT THEY WANT. They backed the project 100% at first, then abruptly did a 180 when they learned that the PRIMARY PURPOSE of the exercise is to monitor BP response times. Oh my, we can't have that, now can we? It was at that point that the BP started holding press conferences, mischaracterizing the MM as "trigger-happy Mexican hunters"
and "vigilantes." Shortly thereafter the Mexican government issued their "threats."
What most people don't realize (since somehow MMS has not reported this -- gee, I wonder why?) is that MOST volunteers are former US military and law enforcement officers themselves (obviously this does not include skinheads/white supremacists).
Those of us near the border have been following this closely, and most of us (except the left-wing illegal immigrant "rights" groups) support this endeavor 100%. What a shame it is being sabotaged.
Again, BP is to blame for most of this mess.

Why is it when you want to observe and report "illegals" crossing the border you're a "vigilante", but yet when you shoot and kill an invader illegally entering your home or business you're a hero?
I smell a double standard lurking here....
It could be a very dangerous thing to have so many people trying to stop from coming.
As far as benefits, from reading I have done it benefits also many American business's to have illegals work for them.
However, there have been many murders, especially of women at the Texas/Mexican boarders, over 400 murders as I recall, the worry maybe would there be an increase of life taken at the boarders with various groups joining in to stop illegal entry.
Along with people just looking for a better life (although the vast majority of even those have no intention whatsoever of ever becoming Americanized), the worst of the worst are coming up here as well. .....in very large numbers. The rate of violent crime committed by illegals outdistances that of any other group by a country mile, and currently 600,000 illegals are incarcerated in American prisons, costing the U.S. taxpayer $1.6 Billion annually.
Then do as the demonRATS want:

Then get out of the way; let people that want to keep the
