Do Japanese walk around in 'Kimono' or 'hakama haori' when respectfully visiting US courts? Korean women wearing the 'hanbook'? Russians in 'cosak' uniforms? How about Dutch in wooden shoes? Cuban-Americans with a 'sombrero with fruit on the top'?
People in America dress like Americans in public, once they get here. What is the point of coming here if you walk around like it's friggin' Saudi Arabia. This is not Saudi Arabia. Take off the friggin' abayas and burkas and respect our culture for pete sakes!
Agreed. The picture was what drew me to the article itself.
There is nothing stopping them from returning to their homelands to dress in curtains. Women in the west have worked hard to get where they are and dont need 'them' to turn back the clock.
