Mexico City, Mexico, Mar. 1 (UPI) -- With the peak season for illegal border crossings looming in the next few months, both Mexico and the United States are gearing up for thousands of inevitable confrontations between Mexicans who will attempt the treacherous journey through the Arizona desert and the American border patrol and immigration authorities on the other side.

Isn't it time the citizens declared war on Mexico?

Turista season begins in San Ysidro and points east . .
Time to tune-up the old INS `Welcome Wagons' and let's make sure those watering stations are maintained.
And our "undocumented alien" guests may need wake-up calls: release the bees!

I wonder if they have off-peak rates for coyotes.

The biggest problem doesn't have to do with the Mexicans (or even non-Mexicans) who are crawling across the border.

It has to do with Mexico, and no US President has actually ever made the state of Mexico get up and be responsible for its own acts and its own people.

With the peak season for illegal border crossings looming in the next few months...

Is there a "non-peak season"?

we consider this action to be incorrect and illegal

The nerve, of the Mexican goverment to call the Minuteman Project illegal. What about the undocumented aliens? aren't they illegal?

""It's no different from seeing a burglar in your neighbor's house and calling the sheriff," Gilchrist said."

Actually it IS different from that... it is like seeing a burglar entering YOUR OWN home and calling the cops. This country is our home, and they are demonstrating as much disrespect for us, and contempt for our law, as someone who is walking into your home illegally and against your will. Their VERY FIRST ACT, the moment their foot touches our soil, is to demonstrate contempt for the will of the people who live in this home.

Well we'll see when the right to protect ones property takes precedence over an invasion from foreign trespassers. Who the h do these people think they are. Time for a giant canal along the border. Or bring the military home from Iraq, they are needed for the invasion right here at home.

You would think Vicente Fox and his worthless government would be embarrased that their people are trying to flee Mexico in droves. They could improve economic freedoms there and for once be seen as something other than a FOURTH WORLD SLUM.

Do not forget "coyote" season. I do not know about the border states, but it is open season on those here.

I agree. In fact, I feel that denying them the ability to come here is doing Mexico a favor. We are damaging struggling Third-World nations when we allow their most ambitious to leave their country.

Mexican Foreign Secretary Luis Ernesto Derbez said Monday that the Mexican government will take legal action against any vigilante militia groups at the U.S.-Mexico border who harm or violate the rights of undocumented migrants crossing into the United States.<

Okay, I must have a reading comprehension problem. The Mexican govenernment will legally attack Americans trying to stop the illegal invasion of America by Mexicans???

"We are going to attack by all legal means," Derbez told reporters at a news conference. "We are presenting the reasons why we consider this action to be incorrect and illegal from the point of view not only of our government but also under U.S. law."

Carumba!!! All legal means to protect their illegal invasion using U.S. laws?!!! My BS meter blow off the scale within reading the first sentence of this offal.

"Derbez added that he had asked a group of U.S. lawyers in Los Angeles to put together a legal strategy to confront the actions of Minuteman Project volunteers."

Um, in our system of self-governance only Congress can declare war, not some vigilante yahoos who soil their pants at the thought of administrative misdemeanors.

Mexico cautions border watch group

If I said what I wanted to say about the arrogance of a forgeign government criticizing the actions of American citizens on American soil, I would be banned.
