NO WOUNDED PEOPLE – NO VIOLENCE (Kosovo refugees 1999)
Sense news agency ^ | March 1, 2005

Posted on 03/01/2005 3:07:38 PM PST by joan

After two persons from the Skopje emergency medical service testify that there were no wounded people or people with visible injuries from violence among the Kosovo refugees who came to Macedonia in the spring of 1999, Milosevic claims it is “clear that these people fled before NATO bombs, not before fire opened by the Serbian security forces or their batons.”

THE HAGUE, 1.3. (SENSE) - If the Albanian civilians who were leaving Kosovo in the spring of 1999 were fleeing the Serbian security forces that had beaten them and opened fire on them, then - as Slobodan Milosevic noted today - there “must have been people who were wounded and people with visible marks from the beatings among them.” If there were not, then, according to Milosevic, “it is clear that those people were fleeing before NATO bombs, and not before any fire opened by the Serbian security forces or their batons.”

Milosevic tried to prove that there had been no wounded or beaten people among the refugees through the testimony of Dobre Aleksovski, Macedonian doctor who was the head of the emergency medical service in Skopje at the time, and Goran Stojcic, an ambulance driver. Dr. Aleksovski and his mobile units provided medical assistance in the refugee camps on the Macedonian border in the spring of 1999. Dr. Aleksovski brought with him to The Hague an “emergency service logbook”, where all the responses his teams had in the refugee camps were recorded.

According to the logbook and Aleksovski’s testimony, only 14 cases of “wounds” were recorded. Only one of the wounds was a gunshot wound. As Dr. Aleksovski explained, it was an “old wound”, sustained a long time before the arrival of the person in the camp. All the other cases, as the witness recounted, were “minor injuries” – fractures, dislocations, cuts – things that occur in “normal life” every day.

In the first week, from approximately 1 April 1999, the refugees Dr. Aleksovski and his colleagues spoke to told them that they were “fleeing from NATO bombs”, the witnesses claimed today. Then, according to Aleksovski and Stojcic, “they suddenly changed tack and started saying that they had fled the terror campaign of the Serbian security forces.”

In the cross-examination of Dr. Aleksovski, the prosecutor tried to counter this description of the physical and mental state of the Kosovo refugees with the reports made after the visits to the refugee camps by the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Mary Robinson, US Ambassador for War Crimes David Scheffer and representatives of the Physicians for Human Rights. The reports describe the “appalling state in the camps”, people with “gunshot wounds and marks from beatings”, “poor hygiene”, “insufficient medical assistance”, “health risks” and “consistent statements made by a large number of refugees that they had left Kosovo because of the violence of the Serbian security forces.”

Dr. Aleksovski, however, indignantly rejected those reports, claiming that nothing stated there was true and that to describe the situation in the camps in such a way was to insult him and his country.

There is no way they can legally convict Milosovic, so they will do it illegally. They are hoping he will die before the trial ends. 5 years and counting.

If this is what the ICC would be like , lets all give Bush a hand for getting us out of it.

Meanwhile, back in the real world, Serbian forces held a cease-fire over Orthodox Easter, while NATO picked up it's bombing OPTEMPO.

Result? Refugee flow down.

Guess you're not familiar with Eric Ball's testimony or the analysis of Kosovar refugee flow he performed, huh?

No worries - informed commentary just isn't one of the hallmarks of the Milosevic trial threads around here.

Yes!!! ICC statute is based on ICTY statute and ICTY statute was written by - ICTY and it shows: Double jeopardy, secret indictments, secret wintesses and many other violations of jurisprudence unthinkable in American courts. ICTY is political circus financed by individuals with strong political agenda (e.g. Soros) and radical countries such as Saudi Arabia and Indonesia.

ICC was introduced while the limelight was on 'humanitarian' nature of the ICTY. Total scam.

The only thing I do not understand is why W still uses ICTY as a noose around Serbia's neck.

To paraphrase Ronald Reagan, MR. BUSH, OPEN THE GATES. MR. BUSH, TEAR DOWN THIS SCAM COURT!

>>>>>Guess you're not familiar with Eric Ball's testimony or the analysis of Kosovar refugee flow he performed, huh>>>>

First of all, tne scammer's name is not Eric Ball, it is Patrick. (there are many scumbags around ICTY whose name is Eric)

Cursory view on Patrick Ball's "evidence", endorsed by American Association for the Advancement of Science bears disclaimer that it is ONLY Ball's personal view:

"The interpretations and conclusions are those of the author and do not purport to represent the views of the Board, the Council, the CSFR, or the members of the Association."

In other words, AAAS washes their hands from this garbage.

But garbage was good enough as evidence for ICTY. ICTY could use old Yellow Pages to the same effect.

The proof is in the pudding. And Ball's pudding, made with rotten eggs stinks to the high heaven.

The tabulated review of refugee flow day by day that was used for statistical analysis is highly unusual.

For example, for the period of April 7-12 daily flow is 7813, 7812, 7813, 7812, 7813, 7812.

There is no daily flow for April 15-21, only summary number.

Any IRS man would spot that THE NUMBERS WERE CLUMSILY COOKED.

No wonder, Patrick Ball is not a statistician at all, although he pretends to be one. He is scammer, and a bad one. His scam was made in childish hope that no one would cross check alleged "data"

It did not help that the entire "documentation procedure" was done in Tirana, Albania, under supervision of Albanian Secret Service, as Scammer Ball dully acknowledges.

This is kind of 'evidence' ICTY used to "prove" that refugees flow is caused by Serbian Army, not NATO bombs.

Patrick Ball could use his cooked data set to prove that lack of gravitation or sunspots caused refugees flow.

The actions of Patrick Ball and Hoplite are the same - shameless and brazen to the core.

Good catch, DTA - Patrick, not Eric.

As to the rest of your effort, well, lets just get your qualifications before accepting any effort as criticism on your part, shall we?

Lets try a test question: You have a total of 51,675 discrete events over a week's time. You also know you had 4,800 of those 51,675 occurring on the last day in the week. How would you express daily values representing the frequency of the event's occurrence?

Get back to me on that one when you figure it out, m'kay professor?

You're about as pathetic as Slobo is, DTA - somehow you missed all the other evidence pointing to Serbian activity causing the refugee flow, like witness testimony, corroborating crime scene investigations, and those oh-so-inconvenient dead Kosovar Albanians which the ICTY dug up in Kosovo and Serbia proper, and are laboring under the misapprehension that if you could only establish a reasonable doubt about one, just one of the pieces of damning evidence, you're home free.

Seriously, what grade are you in?

The lies Clinton's State Department used during aggression on Serbia in 1999 were more brazen than Joseph Goebbels'

"Meanwhile AFP reports the United States yesterday said it had evidence as many as 500,000 ethnic Albanian Kosovan men and fighting-age boys are missing. The State Department said the number of missing men and boys ranged from 100,000 – a figure obtained from refugees who had made it out of Kosovo – to 500,000, a figure that takes into account reports from inside Kosovo."

Patrick Ball scam is incriminating evidence that ICTY used fabricated documents as evidence. I have no intention to discuss this garbage since AAAS washes their hands of it.

Since you asked, I am weapons-grade tool for liars, forgererers and other asorted ICTY scum.

DTA, didn't mean to do the post above without comment--I couldn't get your link on #12 to work.

The Kosovo refugee situation is one of being forced out at the barrel of a Serbian gun, not NATO bombing. It is reinforced by the fact that one-fifth of the Kosovar population was displaced as of 19 March, 4 days prior to the start of the bombing campaign. From the story:

By Robert Evans GENEVA, March 19 (Reuters) - Over one fifth of the people of the strife-torn Serbian province of Kosovo have been driven from their homes in the violence of the past year, the United Nations refugee agency UNHCR said on Friday. "We estimate that overall 22 percent of Kosovo's pre-conflict population, around two million, has been displaced -- 443,000 people," spokeswoman Judith Kumin told a news briefing.

DTA, Ball specifically states that the values you questioned were averages - it's on page 26 of Appendix A.

It is clear that the analysts who constructed the table for the UNHCR/ OSCE took total numbers at particular dates and then averaged the differences across intervening dates.

Your abilities remain inadequate to the tasks you set for yourself, DTA. Just go with the "NAZIS!" garbage from the get go and save yourself the trouble of looking the fool any more than you have to, kid.

PS, If you were a weapons-grade anything, you'd be a bullet: a hollow point.

Check here, the same UNHCR report for April 20 1999

Do you think that I made up that Goebbels lie?

Since you are into verification of data, pls. check BBC timeline made DURING THE FIRST WEEK OF NATO ATTACK

Check the headlines for DAY 1, DAY 2 and DAY 3. Where are the headlines about Refugees? HOLOCAUST etc?

The first notion of refugees was on DAY 4 of Bombing, when NATO was stuck. (Remember Mad Cow's promise of day or two of bombing and Serbs will call uncle?) It says 30,000 refugees who flee FIGHTING.

DAY 5 - Stealth Bomber shot down and becomes visible for ALL U.S. ADVERSARIES AND ALLIES- THE MAJOR SNAFU. That's the time when State Department stepped up Goebbels lies.

DAY 6 - REFUGEES FLEE KOSOVO HORROR. This hoax appeared for the first time 6 days after the war started, i.e. after F-117 was lost and NATO run out of military targets. The bombing of civilian targets commenced and the "humanitarian" smokescreen was needed.
