Support for Boy Scout Vehicle Plates in Illinois
Illinois General Assembly Web Site ^ | 2/28/05 | Ron Fox

The State of Illinois General Assembly has two bills before it that I'd like to ask everyone to support, especially if you live in Illinois! HB0670 would make available special license plates, the fees from which would help support the BSA and GSUSA. SB1813 is the counterpart in the Senate, although it was written to support the BSA only. Illinois residents especially should check these out, see if they have a Senator or Representative on the current commmittee assignments for these bills, and in any case write your Senator and Representative to get these bills out of committee, reconciled, and on the Governor's desk. The BSA needs your help.

Go to the web sites, copy off the text of the bills, modify them for Michigan, and submit them to your State senator and representative. It's a start ....

I'm currenlty working with my Senator to create a law allowing home educators to teach driver education to their children/students. The language is being drafted now and should be introduced in the next month or so.

This should be a pretty cool opportunity to teach my kids the legislative process with my own law.

Next is the Scout plate.
