Is this Soros person an American citizen? If he is, I think it is time the IRS took a look at his books. :)

Well, when you can't corner the market on dollars, this is the next best thing.

Truthfully, it doesn't matter what the denomination is for oil, as all that needs to happen is for oil producing countries to raise the barrel price--as they already have.

Soros is hoping for a windfall. Here's hoping we can cost him the money he's bet.

"The famous currency trader and financier warned Russia and other oil-producing countries to sell their oil and price it in euros rather than US dollars, because the US dollar continues to fall against the euro.

The US dollar poses a danger to oil-producing countries and their economies, he said."

Will Russia/Putin listen? Wonder what currency Iran paid Russia for nukes?

It would not surprise me if Soros tries to destroy the currency here to hurt the economy more and make it easier for him to impliment his fascist agenda.

Radical governments (good and bad) are almost always elected during economic troubles. FDR in the depression(bad). Reagan in 1980(good).

This guy is a more dangerous threat to world stability than the terrorists-he should be dealt with no less severely.

"The US dollar is weak, and is expected to deteriorate more," said Soros.

It's time this guy got squeezed, big time.

He has a very large short position along with his pal Buffet. He certainly isn't going to talk the dollar up.

Is anyone asking whether the guy is right or wrong? I don't like him either; but, that doesn't necessarily mean he's wrong.

He's fixing to short dollars. Personal gain is his motive, maybe so that he can try to purchase a President again.

What was the rational for getting off the gold standard again?

Soros cannot control the dollar market.

so long as china maintains its currency peg, and the US trade deficit soars, the dollar will continue to fall. Break the chinese currency peg, and the dollar will settle into equilibirum.

I agree with Soros' quoted statements, but I see no explanation of how this negatively affects oil producers.

I used this article during the run up to the election to show people who was behind the big push for kerry and how this Soros had set out to bring President Bush down. And why it was just one more reason why they should vote for President Bush. http://slate.msn.com/id/2096921

Soros is just making an economic prediction, and one that has some merit, although nobody really knows.

"Soros tries to kill America, again"

Maybe it's time to return the favor!

(Metaphorically speaking, of course.)
