Emergency Announcement. Thursday - February 24, 2005 Islamic Saudi Academy will be closed today. Offices are open with a liberal leave policy in effect.
One down, 150,000 to go.
Did you get my package?
The snow storm in the D.C. area closed all the schools in the area today. The I.S.A is a few miles south of D.C.
Not yet.
LOL!
Yep. Thanks!
Didn't the snow come later in the day???
All the schools in Northern Virginia are closed today because it snowed.
Is been snowing here since before dawn and its still snowing.
it snowed in Alexandria, VA today and ALL schools in Fairfax County were closed, it had nothing to do with Abu Whatzisname
Didn't know it came that early. How many inches so far?
There was snow early in the morning when we woke up.
Some of the teachers who have been a problem there did not get their visas renewed and had to leave I think.
It started in the morning and snowed all day. Didn't amount to much, but we were in our usual tizzy.
Maybe 5. It was actually pretty much.
About 5 inches where I am, somewhat west of Fairfax. Been snowing since 6 AM, and it's only now letting up a bit.
For you DC folks, at least it'll melt quickly, as March begins next week and mild weather can't be far off.
What you said. ;)
I don't think its much more than 4-6. Its been constant but very fine snow. The roads started getting really bad around 1900. I don't know why they closed down earlier today but everything in Northern VA was pretty muched shutdown.
"The snow storm in the D.C. area closed all the schools in the area today."
Yes, that's what I was thinking. The kid called and said they were having a "snow day" at college today. My Jersey girl doesn't think much of you DC area folks winter storm stamina.
I live in DC and know you all think we are big sissies.
I lived in Ohio, Chicago, Boston, and Denver where we managed better. Still, I remember what an ordeal it was getting to work in Chicago all winter.
It is very congested here and people here drive too fast.
There are a lot of people here who don't understand about slowing down.
The children have to be out on the street waiting for busses. This is the big concern since it is so busy.
Fairfax also has rural areas that don't get cleared too fast.
Our weather often makes the roads very icy. It is not the hard cruncy snow your tires can did into. We often have that black ice.
