He could really punt that ball high and long. Rest in God's peace Reggie.

Not only that, he would take one step to punt. This made it almost impossible to block one of his kicks because the rushers could never get there in time. I saw only one of his punts blocked and that was because the back up long snapper short hopped the ball to him.

How sad. He had six kids and was doing good work in the community. I hope this wasn't anything but natural causes.

How tall was Reggie? He was the tallest punter that I remember. RIP, Reggie.

He was built like a lineback. Something like 6'-4" and 240+ pounds, if I remember correctly.

One of the highlights of his career was a practice session in the Superdome where he won a bet with coach Don Shula by punting a ball straight up and hitting the roof of the dome.

Last I saw Reg, was 1999, and he appeared to tbe the heaviest punter in history too.  Looked like he was weighing in at about 310.
God Speed, Reggie.  You will be missed.

Based upon his weight and young age probably a heart attack. I'm 280 lbs and 42 years old myself and this the final wakeup call to start losing weight. I know 3 people who died from heart attacks in their early 40's over the lsat several years.

Reggie, and Ray Guy will forever be the graetest punters in NFL history. These to guys were weapons, they could change the complexion of a game with one kick. I can't think of a punter now or in the last few years who was any where near the same class as these guys, hell I can't even name a punter in the NFL right now. Rest in peace Reggie.

Whoops, WoodstockCat, I was less than specific in my post. Joe Brower has a Florida ping list and I was alerting him to this thread. I am a Pats fan first and an AFC fan second. I remember many years watching Roby and appreciated his talent.

Besides, I'd think a Dolphins fan ping list would be pretty small :) Just kidding!

ouch..yeah after this year that is the case. The Pats are doing what the Fins couldn't quite accomplish thanks to the WFL.
I have an extremely varied team following:

NFL: Dolphins
MLB: Red Sox
College Hoops: Kentucky
