Both the Governor and the President have the power to go out publically and denounce murder. The Governor has the power to demand the impeachemnt of a judge who not only advocates, but encourages murder.

They can do this loudly and with COURAGE - but politicians today have little courage to uphold morals and the Constitution.

The President of the United States is the titular head of this country. He is supposed to represent the will of the people. I am sure the people want Terri to live -- if not -- this country is DAMNED.

The governor of Florida can save the live of a convicted murderer and give them amnesty --- you are telling me that he has no power to save an innocent life condemed to die by an activist judge with questionable morals?

He may suffer politically from the leftist murdering fringe of this society, but they are NOT the United States of America.

Agree with all you've said. In particular, the Governor is being tested here. Will he be a leader or a politician? Will he do the right thing, or will he skate? So far, he has confounded the cynics and stuck his neck way out there for Terri. He seems to grasp that the political risks are greater, if he does not try to save her; and that is uncommon thinking in a government position these days.

Governor Bush can still do plenty. I hope he does. And President Bush---and Pope John Paul II also---can move mountains simply by addressing the issue. I believe that they have a positive duty to do so, because their power is so rare and the moral issue is so grave.
