This report in today's Barron's is probably the best analysis of tax reform prospects that I've seen in the MSM so far. It gives decent coverage to the Fair Tax as well as other alternative reform proposals and an assessment of their chances.

The Barron's report requires subscription, but I think the report of Congressman Linder's outlook for House hearings and action is worthy of notice.

Looks like Republicans are going to run with this. Will upset "naysayers" here on FR, no doubt. As well as media scamps who stated "tax reform will be delayed."
I just hope the RINOs don't jack with it, as they did GWBs tax cut package two years ago. Recall his intention to ABOLISH capital gains/dividend taxes completely. Just think where GDP would be had GWB been successful! The accursed RINOs are as evil as the Dims.

Great news. The more hearings the better. The more opportunities to counteract the marketing of the AFT with the truth. But having a "menu of options to act upon by August" is kinda silly (the House is kinda silly in general). There will be no action taken this year and the options will be set by the president.
BTW, the president's commission starts their hearings tomorrow. Hoping they will be on C-SPAN.

A Taxreform bump for you all.
If you would like to be added to this ping list let me know.
John Linder in the House(HR25) & Saxby Chambliss Senate(S25), offer a comprehensive bill to kill all income and SS/Medicare payroll taxes outright, and provide a IRS free replacement in the form of a retail sales tax:
H.R.25,S.25
A bill to promote freedom, fairness, and economic opportunity by repealing the income tax and other taxes, abolishing the Internal Revenue Service, and enacting a national retail sales tax to be administered primarily by the States.

Now there is a time table.
Now if we could just further discredit the leftist media in this country between now and August, this should be smooth sailing for the most part.
