for all to know, the NLG is specifically a communist group.
This lawyer was convicted for doing STUPID things. It was not just passing notes, she was distracting guards so communications could be made directly to the translator.
This conviction was not the result of ideology, this conviction was a result of STUPID arrogance in a PRISON security setting.
How many people died before here stupid manuvers were caught?

A lot of scoundrels are prevented from producing and selling defective and dangerous products because honest and decent lawyers (there are some) will pound them at court. BTW McDonald's doesn't sell 180 Degree coffee any more. But it's not because they got considerate all of a sudden...
Before we had a world full of lawyers, people were expected to have a little common sense about things like climbing ladders. There was a lawsuit against the ladder manufacturer by the guy who fell from the ladder because he set it up on a pile of frozen manure next to the barn. Sad that you don't admit that lawyers are a very needful and good counterbalance to the nastiness of the strong and powerful. If you ever spill negligently hot coffee on your skin and get third degree burns and need skin grafts, and you don't want damages, that's up to you. I doubt that you'll be able to find a Mickey D's selling 180 Degree coffee, though. Don't want to be sued for malpractice? Don't make mistakes b/c you're lazy, stupid, using illegal drugs, or drunk. Pretty simple...
