PC Crowd Caught with Pants Down

If there is more to the story UNLV, let's here it.

Don't hide behind the weak argument of protecting the student's identity. We don't want to know the student's identity. We want to know why you are trying to discipline Prof. Hoppe.

To the UNLV officials responsible for putting out the above referenced press release, you should be ashamed that you did so.

Frankly this press release looks to me like the Politically Correct Crowd getting caught with their pants down, and now they are trying to run for cover.

I was not going to comment on this obscure controversy, but two things struck me.

The first is that specially in the academic environment, all subjects are open to discussion, by the basic definition of education.

A student, again by definition, cannot be offended by the learning process. He may disagree, but being "offended" creates a chilling environment for everyone else to be able to learn and is an unjustified imposition based on a personal psychological pathology.
