Armor Holdings, Inc. Receives Up-Armored HMMWV Order Valued at Approximately $32 Million

JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Feb. 10 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Armor Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: AH - News), a leading manufacturer and distributor of security products and vehicle armor systems serving law enforcement, military, homeland security and commercial markets, announced today that it has received a new contract award to provide additional Up-Armored HMMWVs, both to the U.S. Marine Corps and the U.S. Air Force.
Armor Holdings Aerospace & Defense Group has received a modification to its existing sole source contract supporting the U.S. Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command. The Company stated that the new $32 million order increases delivery requirements for M1114 Up-Armored HMMWVs to support U.S. Marine Corps and U.S. Air Force requirements. The Company also indicated that the deliveries will be completed in 2005 and that the work will be performed at Armor Holdings' Fairfield, Ohio facility.

Sounds like between 142 and 213 vehicles. Approx 2 weeks production. Unless new orders are placed, I think plant goes quiet in third quarter 05.
Good news for me. My company supplies them with products to install the ballistic windshields. It's an application I developed so I'm kind of happy to be doing my little part to help in the war effort.
BTW, it's a real cool plant too.
