Whites 'Leaving Cities as Migrants Move In' (British white flight)
The Telegraph ^ | February 10, 2005 | Philip Johnston

Posted on 02/09/2005 6:15:01 PM PST by quidnunc

White and ethnic minority communities are becoming increasingly separated by growing levels of population movement and immigration, a report says today.

More white families are moving from London to the regions while many immigrants arrive in the capital from overseas, the think-tank Migrationwatch says.

The change in 10 years has been "extraordinarily rapid'', with 606,000 more people moving out of London than arrived from elsewhere in the country. In the same period, a net 726,000 immigrants arrived in the capital.

Other regions, notably the South West, South East and East Midlands are having to expand rapidly to deal with the white outflow from London, putting strain on their housing, transport, education and health systems.

Of the migration from London, almost 300,000 people moved to the South West between 1993 and 2003 and 181,000 went to the east of England.

Migrationwatch says the changes, even for a city as diverse and as vibrant as London, are "unprecedented''.

It says: "Migration within the UK is mainly from areas of high ethnic minority population to those with predominantly white populations.

"The effect is a rapid increase in the ethnic minority composition of some boroughs, resulting from an outflow of the white population and an inflow of African and Asian international migrants.

I for one am tired of it and I's going to start shoveling one of the bullshit I've taken from n Brits back in your direction.

So just because you have a personal gripe, you're going to slime Free Republic with it.

How petulant.

I should point out that there are more important things in life than your feelings, or your ego being bruised by a few posters in a forum - the fact that Britain has committed blood and treasure to the mission in Iraq, for example. One wonders where your sense, or your value judgements are if your view of this is obscured by just some random idiots on the internet.

One wonders also why you are so upset by British postings, since there is far, far worse commentary to be found on Democrat Underground.

Ivan

And the reason has absolutely nothing to do with racism and everything to do with concern for safety and values.

If it wasn't for the racial makeup of Detroit, you wouldn't have concerns for safety and values.

I think that chip on the shoulder is fear, that they won't fit in, that everyone else will realize they're 'different', whatever. A sense of inferiority, probably baseless. Immigrants have given up everything, uprooted themselves, their families, in a sense...they've jumped off a cliff. That's scarey. Worse, like it or not, their children assimilate and turn into Americans willy nilly.

B.B. you are hilarious...... Though the yobs are wierd -- an Asian friend of mine told me aobut once he was walking down a street and a bunch of yobs started to shout out: "Curry! I want my curry delivery". AT this my friend burst out laughing and asked them if that was the best line they could think of, they shut up after that!

I don't think it would matter what they wanted. I'm reliably informed that when drunken Englishmen get aggressive in Indian Restuarants, they get cooked some very special recipies.

There are some spices that hurt more on the way out than on the way in. And that's without the accumulated spittle of the entire kitchen staff. The BNP and their skinheaded wannabe breathren have been eating dribbly curries for years now and crying on the seat the morning after.

All of which is rather gratifying!

of course, I was informed by my Indian friend that those restaurants are really Bangladeshi in any case! And he showed me that episode from Goodness Gracious me about going out for an English -- hilarious! That's one thing I like about living here -- everyone takes the piss out of everyone else and there's no PC and no hard feelings ('cause generally most folks don't mean to hurt the other)

Yes, when it comes to piss-taking, I think we are the world leaders!

That episode of Goodness Gracious Me actually did more for race relations than any MP or NGO has in the last 20 years. I think an awful lot of us had to take a good long look in the mirror after that one.

Now that's something you limey's could teach us -- the non-ghettoisation. Well, except for Britxton maybe....

Brixton's a funny old place. The value of the area literally changes street by street. There's some very wealthy, posh people in Brixton and some extraordinarily posh bars. And then there are lots of crack whores.

I try to avoid it!

So what you're saying is that your national passtime is engaging in rude, boorish behavior towards others?

Dear quidnunc,

I know from experience that any American Briton participating on any British American forum — liberal or conservative — sooner or later gets a liberal an anglophobic ration of trash talk about our president prime minister, our country, our culture and pretty much all things American British in general.

Most of us pro-American Conservative British posters on this forum have been vilified by anglophobic American posters. Ivan and me have been on the receiving end of many an anglophobic diatribe, but we don't spend our time posting articles and comments that bash the USA and its people. Frankly, you should just ignore people who engage in that sort of posting, rather that exasperating the situation by imitating their stupid and selfish behaviour and thus alienating your allies.

I for one am tired of it and I's going to start shoveling one of the bullshit I've taken from n Brits back in your direction.

Well at least you admit that your are shovelling BS about Britain. But how will this behaviour promote good Anglo-American relations on this forum?

Best regards
