FORMER HAWKEYE STAR ARRESTED 02-09-2005 -- West Des Moines (AP)

Pierce was formally charged today with first-degree burglary, two counts of domestic abuse/assault, assault with intent to commit sexual abuse, false imprisonment and fourth criminal mischief. Police say Pierce turned himself in at the West Des Moines police department this morning. He will be taken to the Dallas County jail in Adel and then the courthouse for an initial arraignment scheduled for one o'clock Wednesday afternoon.

Pierce has been under investigation in an incident at the home of a former girlfriend. After news of the investigation surfaced, Iowa basketball coach Steve Alford dismissed Pierce from the team, citing a betrayal of trust with teammates and coaches.

A telephone call to Pierce's attorney, Alfredo Parrish, was not immediately returned.

I guess Hawkeye finally had enough of Hot Lips, and so he locked her in the supply tent for a few days. Doesn't look good - I don't think Col. Potter can cover for him on this one, unless, when the IG guys are down from Tokyo investigating and are about to lead him away in handcuffs, Radar comes running in yelling "Choppers!" Then, the IG guys will observe Hawkeye's seriousness and dedication in the OR, plus the fact that there is no laughtrack in there, and this will convince them to overlook this discretion and let him remain in "the Swamp" for the duration of the war. I just hope Col. Flagg doesn't find out about this, because then there will be real trouble!

If Lt. Colonel Blake hadn't gone and got himself killed, he'd have been able to cover it up.
