Super Bowl commercial: HeroSalute.com
Busch Entertainment Corporation ^ | February 6, 2005 | Anheuser-Busch

A great commercial that ran during the Super Bowl. I wasn't watching - my wife told me about it.

Watch it, and bring the box of tissue. You WILL be leaking...

I looked for a Super Bowl thread, but I couldn't find anything that seemed as if it would carry this.

IMHO, the best commercial in the Super Bowl.

Did you notice that there were no patches on the BDU's?

Hmm, the music sounds like the opening for U2's Where the Streets Have No Name.

Good ad, very respectful of our troops. Is this the ad that has DuH in an uproar?

Not the two quick times that I watched it.

It was the best ad. Runners up were all the ads from Ameriquest about not judging too quickly. Especially the one with the cat.

Over at DU they are pissed off.

Get out. I'd better not be around when some Lefty p*sses on our troops in public. I will materialize in front of the offender's nose, and I'm a very large person...

Dittos. The other one I liked was California Nut Co...where the dad tells his daughter if he shared, unicorns would all die...then they cut to a unicorn...

How's about sending Anheuser Busch some e-mails.

Half the soldiers leaving the plane were women. The vast majority of soldiers who have died in Iraq have been men. I thought that commercial reeked of political correctness.

I think we can lower our PC radar to half-staff for this commercial.

The sentiment expressed is the important one.

Shows you just how cynical we've become. That's the first thing I noticed, too. Though I guess we should look on the bright side and thank Anheuser-Busch for not including a Muslim soldier bending his @ss in prayer on a mat right there in the airport.

BTTT. If anyone knows a good feedback email address for Busch, please let me know. I would like to thank them.

I didn't watch the Super Bowl, but watched most of the ads on IFilm ...this ad isn't there (as of 10:45 CT)...why?

Agreed on the P.C. criticism of the ad, but it was still a TERRIFIC gesture by A-B.

I liked the new Cadillac 0-60 ad..a LOT.
