Los Angeles, CA, Feb. 3 (UPI) -- Talk radio, for years regarded as something of a home field for conservative politics in America, is making more room for liberal politics with a rapid expansion of the progressive-talk format.

Hopefully this will encourage Soros to pour more of his money down the drain into Al Gore's cable network..

If this succeeds, can we finally stop funding NPR?

If a bear farts in the woods and nobody is around to smell it, does it still stink?

For example, he said KPOJ in Portland, Ore., is the No. 4 station overall among listeners age 25-54.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Number 4! They should be able to get top dollar for the ad-time in Portland!

Sinton said the numbers have settled back somewhat since then, but he said the station is still "a big hit."

Progressive. Hmmm. Does that mean they are moving forward? If it does, then does it also mean they are not being cautious or conservative in their movements? And if this is the case will they see the precipice before they fall over it?

Probably not. Moving forward for the sake of moving is not a good idea, especially when you are moving from a dry, warm and secure place.

Everyone have a great weekend!!

When the 'progressive' message is LA is broadcast only in Spanish, we shall see where the rubber meets the road with the monolingual progressives. Haaaaaaaa....and they'll have fun fun fun till their real daddy takes their message away.

Liberal talk radio is currently not much of an industry because liberals typicaly don't listen to talk radio. If it is to succeed, then liberal programs need to create an audience that has not previously existed in significant numbers. But if it does succeed it will be because liberals decided to change their listening habits. I suppose that could happen, but that remains to be seen.

Progressive? Is that how you say "communist" these days? I say let 'em spew. They're only taking listeners away from NPR anyway. It's a zero-sum game for them.

In my experience, most conservatives listen to talk radio on their way to/from work and/or at lunch (Rush).

I suspect most of the "progressive audience" either is likely not working, or doesn't get up until well past lunch.

Any progressive talk radio doesn't have to only compete with NPR, but also with Jerry Springer...

As long as the rich liberals are willing to pour money in to subsidize it. When they get tired of wasting their dough, then it will die again. They almost went under last year because no one listened and consequently no one bought advertising.

I know there are many here who are not Rush fans, but what has made him a success is that behind the rhetoric, he remains truly optimistic. The first time my GF heard him she thought he was an "inspirational speaker".

The Dums offer nothing but negativity.
