it is an attack on free speech but sometimes there are just limits IMHO......this stuff has gotten out of hand in certain areas. I agree with McCain on this one issue but I"m open to other suggestions.......

Yeah, he did such a bang-up job trying to fix campaign financing the first time, didn't he?

So you're joining with McLame, Meehan, Shays and Feingold in their little piss on our Constitution. I'm guessing you have about as much respect for the 2nd Amendment as you do for the first.

I'd say the is open real-time public access disclosure with severe criminal penalties for giving false information, combined with parties being sensible enough to attack the motives of the big money men for the opposition.

Did the campaign finance reform bill they passed stop money from entering into politics? No, it had the opposite effect, more money then ever went into politics.

It is tyrannical to restrict the spending of an individual citizen. He/She should be able to give unlimited money to whoever and whatever causes they desire.

The ONLY sure-fire way to get money out of politics is to restrict the power of government. If government has no power besides the basic rule of law, then there is no reason for citizens to feel it advantageous to donate to the campaigns of politicians in return for special interest favors that often hurt their (the donator's) fellow citizens.

We need to shrink the power of the federal government. This is the best campaign finance reform.
