No offense, but why give them a hit?
Funny article. MS is having a tough time with this one. Apple learned from their computer mistakes with the iPod, and have a pretty good lead. The advantages of the iPod are the same I believe are available in the Mac, but MS totally swamped Mac with superior marketing. Apple, so far, isn't letting that happen with the iPod. That being said, if I worked for GM, I wouldn't drive a Toyota to work.
Bose TriPort Stereo Headphones
Hee..Hee
I love my iPod, but I hate those earbuds. I use a set of external speakers quite often, and I have the FM transmittal set-up for radio. Very nice.
I don't blame them for wanting to protect their copyright. The only disadvantage I can see with our inability to post the article text is that if, for whatever reason, a FReeper wants to read the article a year from now, chances are it will be gone from the external site.
Other than that, I'd have no problem with that being standard procedure around here.
Duh.
Yes, those earbuds are Awful. I bought the Headphones at the same time, based on a review in one of the magazines.
THe really irksome thing is, if your Remote attachment goes (mine did) you have to buy the two together.
Now I have a new remote, and TWO crappy sets of Earbuds, lol.
I haven't purchased a set of headphones yet, but it's on my list of things to do. Have I mentioned that I hate those stinkin' earbuds?
Should employees be listening to music, or working?
If you work in a cube farm, you'll do anything you have to to shut out background noise. I hate cube farms! (But then I've had a private office for almost seven years now.)
I wear those to the gym. They work beautifully. They dont move, they cancel out outside noise....they're great.
Cube = padded cell with one open wall.
I noticed this in the article:
"In 2003, Fester stirred up considerable controversy claiming Apple is locking in consumers with proprietary file formats, despite Microsoft's long history of using the same tactic."
iPods will play vanilla MP3 files, will they not? What could be less proprietary?
As to the tunes from their iTunes site, well of course they're in a proprietary format, so as to enable the DRM - no more proprietary than WMA, I would say.
No, I don't have an iPod - I make do with a nice little Sony MP3 CD player that I bought in 2003 - 10 albums at a time is enough for me, for now, and CDRs are cheap.
I would. Toyotas are better cars.
:)
I understand their being protective, but anybody/any site that is so anal retentive as to not want some free publicity and forbids even one paragraph teasers.... well, if they don't show a basic grasp of common sense I don't want to begin absorbing information from them.
Hang in there....
I've gone through MANY sets of headphones. The best sounding pair I've had were Koss 4AA's but they were too damn heavy and really uncomfortable after 30 minutes.I have some great sounding Sennheisers that are featherweight. SONY has some good ones and I've even found a set from Pioneer for all of $10.00 that sold for $40.00 in some stores. B&O A8 headphones are really tops (in price too, unfortunately)but Shure makes an in-ear model (E2c) that makes standard earbuds sound like laptop speakers in comparison.
