One of the proudest moments of my life was graduation day from MU...the day before, I had taken the oath as a 2nd LT from their ROTC program. 18 years later, it appears I wouldn't recognize the place, nor be welcome if I did.
BTW, we use snipers all the time over here, with devastating results. The bad guys fear them as much as anything.
GO WARRIORS!
MU Class of 86
You wonder what goes thru their heads when they change a great university for the worse in the name of progress.
1986, eh? I had just gotten to Ft Polk. My jeep's vehicle number was A-66. Oh the fun I had changing the numbers around on that thing :-)
Stay safe!
There was a great picture of a sniper at work in Fallujah posted here awhile back. Some of us mommy types got all worried because he wasn't wearing his helmet. We had to laugh at ourselves. God bless them all and you too and thank you for your service. BTW, I'm a UW grad.
Thunder
I'm a 1992 graduate, fortunately there are still some great conservatives and libertarians at MU. Let's not forget the pilot that flew Bush onto the carrior was a Marquette graduate as well.
Unfortunately, Mark McCarthy has displayed these colors for years ever since I was a student there. Same old same old. I think the term "Adopt a Sniper" probably hit him wrong and in typical fashion, he probably did zero investigation on what the program is all about.
The only way to rectify this is to change the nickname back to the Marquette Warriors.
:)
Go Warriors
Oooooh-to the-Rah!
Snipers rule, terroristas drool (foamy blood, usually), and our guys are the best!
If I was not already to old to join up, I would go in with becoming a sniper as my uppermost goal. I've got skills that it is a shame to waste - I mean, I can drop a trotting coyote with a head shot from 220 yards, open sights with a .300 mag (hand hot-loaded Nosler partitions, 165gr)- a nice "little" Parker-Hale. All it takes is 20/13 vision and steady hands... </end boastful rant>
