Suspended sentence for 12-year-old drunk driver

LONDON - A British girl who was arrested for driving drunk on Christmas, at 12 years of age, has been handed a one-year suspended sentence.

The adolescent, who has since turned 13, drove her parents' car from a family party after drinking two bottles of beer, a mixed cocktail and sips from a range of alcoholic drinks.

After driving 13 kilometres on a 50-kilometre trip to see a friend, she was stopped after being spotted swerving and hitting the curb on the route in Swindon, Wiltshire, southwest England.

Her father called the police after realising she had taken his car keys at the party.

When tested, her blood alcohol level was found to be nearly twice the limit allowed for drivers.

She is thought to be the youngest Briton to be arrested for drunk driving.

The girl, who was not named, pleaded guilty last month to aggravated vehicle taking, driving without a licence or insurance, and driving under the influence of alcohol.

"She is thought to be the youngest Briton to be arrested for drunk driving."

Guiness World Book should be notified.

Yes. But this story is not evidence of it.

I strongly disagree.

In Britian is it ILLEGAL to defend yourself, family, and property from an intruder.

That is just one easy example. The list can be expanded greatly. Will let others do so.

Many, many, many moons ago I worked as a tool & die maker in Swindon and I can tell you that the natives there even walk this way.

Should have tagged her so that she would not be elegible for a license for a year or two after the normal age.

Really. Tell that to those who have been prosecuted and jailed for assault, attempted murder, and murder for defending their family and homes against burglars.

Also, there was a couple that was forced to remove barb wire they had put along the top of their fence because it posed a risk to CRIMINALS who might attempt to enter their property!

See 12 and read that article for the real situation, as distinct from the tendentious media reporting of exfceptional cases.
