CNN is reporting an explosion at a Spanish hotel in the southern part of the country...

Bomb explodes in Spanish resort town

The Associated Press

MADRID, Spain (AP) — A bomb exploded Sunday in a hotel in the town of Denia in southeast Spain, news reports said. There was no immediate word on casualties.

The bomb detonated in the Hotel Port Denia around 3:15 p.m., the news agency Efe reported.

Denia is a resort town on Spain's Mediterranean coast.

Heh. I guess since the only time Al Qaeda managed to swing an election was by bombing Spain, they're figuring to try doing it again and see if it works on the Iraqi election.

Hmmm ~ SE Spain ~ that's where the last of the old Moslem states held forth until they were taken over in the Reconquista.

Could be that AlQaida has initiated their long-sought "roll back" on the Christians.

Probably not, remember after Madrid it was emphasized that they always telephone warnings well in advance, and they do not target civilians. This was the case in a thwarted bombing not too long ago which was ETA.

DENIA (ALICANTE). - A device has exploded in the Hotel Port Dénia located in the alicantina locality of Denia, in the region of High Navy, according to informed police sources. Minutes before the explosion, a call in name of ETA alerted of the positioning of the pump, reason why the building was evacuated, although two hurt of slight character have taken place.

A call in name of terrorist organization ETA to the DYA of Bilbao alerted on the 14,35 hours of which an explosion in the hotel was going to take place, according to informed to Efe sources into the investigation. After receiving the warning, several dowries of the National Police evacuated the building, although the pump exploded minutes before the hour announced by the comunicante.

The explosion took place in the stairs of emergencies located in the later part of the hotel Port Denia, that has 280 rooms.

The device has exploded on the 15,15 hours, when the building already was evacuated, and according to they have confirmed sources of the Red Cross to elmundo.es, both hurt they are of slight character, and have been transferred to the Hospital of Denia.

Sources of the Subdelegation de Gobierno of Alicante informed into which strong material damages in the second and third plant of the hotel have taken place.

Sympathy strike? Confused terrorists? Orders garbled in transmission, the part that said "in Iraq" unreadable? Half-hearted insurgents who fear the Spanish army less than the American army?
