GREENBELT -- One of the men accused of setting fires at an upscale housing development in southern Maryland made racist and threatening comments about blacks moving into the homes and was angry that the "neighborhood is going black," according to court documents made public Thursday.
The allegations about Aaron Speed, who worked as a security guard at the Hunters Brooke development in Indian Head, emerged from an interview with another man charged in the fires, Jeremy Parady. The interview was detailed in search warrant affidavits unsealed in federal court.
Speed and Parady are among six men charged with arson in the Dec. 6 fires that caused $10 million in damage to dozens of homes in various stages of construction. Many of the residents slated to move into the development were black.

It's sort of an interesting situation. Southern Maryland actually is (well, beginning to be "was") Southern. However the suburbs of DC have been steadily encroaching on the area.....in this situation, you had large expensive houses that Black professionals were moving into in an area with a lot of lower income whites.
Interesting. It's now a hate crime based on spurious evidence. Yet race has yet to be mentioned in the kidnapping and rape of the young lady in Texas.
What a conundrum – which is the more heinous crime? Arson or uttering the dread “neighborhood is going black” (melodramatic sharp/augmented organ tone in background…)
Spurious? Did you read the article? How do you define spurious? What other motive do you attribute it too? Why so eager to defend this slime?

Was it a factor in the crime? Do you KNOW the race of the perp?
I tend to agree with Strategerist. Poor, lazy, dumb white-trash pissed at them uppity (professional- ie; educated, well off) blacks moving into our county (emphasizing the failure of our lives with every breath they took).
I am not defending these criminals. They committed crimes and should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. I did not read the entire article as I will not register.
My point is that the msm will look for any excuse to label an act a hate crime against a minority but will go out of its' wall to avoid any indication of bias in crimes against whites. A crime is a crime. Motive doesn't have to be proved. You get less of a penalty if hate can't be proved.
The kidnapping, rape and murder of Megan Holden, white, was committed by johnny lee williams, black. This fact is not mentioned in any of the news stories. He waited outside the walmart for hours for a particular victim. Should he get less of a sentence if he says that he didn't torture and slaughter this poor girl with hatred for whitey in his heart?

To: jocon307Hunters Brooke subdivision, for some reason, has attracted well-to-do African Americans. Presumably, this group of homes is being touted in some social circles rather than others.
The development is reasonably upscale and probably will end up quite diverse by the time all 400+ homes are built, but the initial impressions, to the locals, may have been that it was primarily attracting blacks.
Harold von Braunhut was the wealthy inventor of comic book gags such as Sea Monkeys and X-ray Specs. He used a significant portion of his proceeds to fund white Aryan activities. Von Braunhut was forced to give up his White-supremicist activities in the mid-90's when he was publicly exposed by the ADL, which resulted in threats from his resellers to pull his products. Rumors are that he was simply "forced underground" to continue his activities in the privacy of his own 70 acre compound in Indian Head, Md.
Von Braunhut had a passion for public speaking and, unable to address conferences of young skinheads, he took up community "save the wildlife" causes instead. He became the spokesman for SWORD (Save Wildlife. Oppose Riviera Development) when the group--of useful idiots--formed to attempt to prevent the construction of an earlier subdivision.
