"Cover Up began as an effort to answer the two big unanswered questions left..."

I haven't read the entire piece yet, but I'm guessing the answer to the questions might be, "to protect Clinton."

Maybe no.

Whatever

I agree partially that a lot of what they did was to protect Clinton. The Gorelick memo was to protect the connection of foreign dollars financing Clinton's re-election. But .. as usual .. the dems are so short-sighted the Gorelick memo also prevented our agencies from connecting the dots of some very dangerous people.

The other reason was because it was the appeasement policy of the admin.

Albright admitted that America being a super power was a problem. She believed (and said that the President agreed with her) that by giving other countries some of our technology and weapons information .. this was going to level the playing field.

In other words .. this dippy broad thought that if you give your enemy the very same weapons you have - then he won't have any motive to shoot at you - because he's as powerful as you. The logic of this outlook is just beyond all common sense. You don't give your enemy weapons. But .. the dems don't think these tyrants are our enemy.

You can see how this attitude would not allow the admin to get tough with these outlaws and criminals. And .. they wanted to treat it as a legal issue and not a terrorist/WAR issue. But .. on the other hand - Clinton was good at bombing other countries - where he didn't have to be accountable for the deaths of Americans in a ground war. It was also Clinton who initiated the "no pictures of coffins" issue - it was not the Bush admin.
