We invite and request your prayers every day this week for the Iraqi elections on Sunday. This is a pivotal event in World history, and a vitally important one for our country and administration as well. Please pray for the safety of all those, including our brave military, who are putting themselves at risk to make this election happen.
Pray for a huge turnout, and that Iraqi voters are kept safe from those who would intimidate and frighten in order to perpetuate their evil.
I feel absolutely certain that our President is praying about this event and for his brave soldiers daily. While he probably would not choose to call publicly for prayer, I feel that he would be overjoyed and strengthened to have Americans and people of faith all over the world join him in this.
Please pass this along to others that you know who would like to informally join us in this prayer vigil.
Amen. Thank you for your prayers, MontanaBeth.

We Exalt You, Your Majesty! We Love, Reverence, and Adore You, Praying in Your Holy Name, and for Your Glory, amen.
I haven't been typing on these threads but am praying daily for the Iraqi people and elections. Thanks for the ping.
I am praying for protection, strength, blessing for our troops and the good Iraqis.
Amen to your prayer, Kitty Mittens. For all those who have gone before us and all those who will come behind, Great God in Heaven, we thank you.
Yes indeed, KiloLima. Thank you for your prayer and your thoughts.
Thank you for your prayer, Gretchen. May the fires of freedom and respect for self and others burn throughout Iraq on this momentous few days in their history.
Beautiful post. God bless you and keep you! Really, really, hardfelt prayers coming your way!!!
Man you know how to pray, lady! Amen again! Your prayers give me goosebumps! I love to read others prayers. Sometimes the words just don't come to me. You have a great gift of praise. Thank you for posting your prayers!
Glory to God, King of Kings, Lord of Lords, Savior of our sins. Grant us Your grace and mercy! May we all be lifted up by your Holy Spirit! Alleluia!
Thank you! You are precious!
You said exactly what I think when I read other's prayers on FR. They are beautiful! I am at a loss for words when I see what comes out of their spirits!
We just don't realize how precious they are as they float up to our Lord! He loves ALL praise and gratefulness!
That's where the agreement part comes in.
Do you ever start shaking your head yes, when hearing others pray? Well............those become your words too, when you agree like that. Matt. 18: 19
Do I make any sense?
Thank you for your encouragement. That must be your gift!
Because I "feel" encouraged!
You must also have a grateful spirit! "I hear" it in your words.
That comes when we realize we aren't worth saving.....but out of pure Grace HE did save us!!
How wonderful He is... Our Blessed Savior!! Jesus Christ the Lord!
Prayers from New York
LORD, we continue to beseech you for the protection of our forces as well as the Iraqi civilians. We think of those who are transporting materials, those who are providing escort, those who are preparing sites, those who are making decisions in their home now, and so many more involving in this election. We know that the enemies of freedom are amassed for their evil and bloody schemes. But, LORD, we also know that you can put them down, confuse their plans, and disrupt their efforts. That is our request of you. In your mercy, hear our prayers. Amen.
I took the liberty of reposting your wonderful prayer to the original prayer vigil location, annie. Thank you for your prayers and thoughts.
Thank you for your prayers, deadhead.
As I was praying by myself this morning for this event, a picture came to my mind, JAC....it was a picture of a mother and father deciding IF they would vote, and if they did, how they would arrange to leave the house separately, so as not to leave their children open to the possibility of being orphaned. Such realities are something we can barely grasp in this country.
I'll be glad to join you in prayer. This election is more important than we can ever know.
From Optimom:
Prayers for our brave soldiers and the Iraqi people from my son and I. May God send his own army of angels to confound the enemy and keep them from harming the good guys. Amen.
Amen to your prayers, optimom. Continue to pray unceasingly. The critical hours are approaching. People of faith all over the world, please pray that the lives of the innocent will be preserved throughout this noble effort, that our faithful and courageous citizens in Iraq will be protected, and that the people of Iraq will gain the joys of freedom and self-determination.
Indeed you are right, annie. I was struck by your statement those who are making decisions in their home now. Pray for that brave mother and father you saw in your mind's eye, and pray for their children.
Thank you for joining us in prayer, McGavin. And you are right.
Thank you for starting this thread... we lift up our hands to our Father, crying "Abba"... let us see Your Face in the midst of the whirlwide, and let us be guided by Your Hand. For the sake of our children, our military, and the children of Iraq, we call upon You for protection.
In Jesus name we pray...
