When you hit a hot button issue a lot of people don't look for sarcasm. They take it at face value.
Besides, you could see a democrat actually saying this, couldn't you?

It never fails to amaze me how many here would not recognize sarcasm (and for that matter satire) if it bit them on the butt.

I think sarcasm/irony posts need their own version of a "Barf Alert" in them.

Something along the lines of:

The blood pressure spikes generated by posts without some sort of warning are not good for heart health.
