DAYTON, Ohio -- A pastor discovered the burned, headless body of a man Monday outside the pastor's church on Dayton's west side, police said.
Police believe the victim was killed elsewhere and the body brought to The Way of the Cross Gospel Ministries church, said Bob Chabali, district police commander.
Investigators were not able to immediately determine the race or age of the victim.
"I saw something that looked like a trash bag, and as I got closer to it, I saw it was a body," the Rev. David Jones said.
Chabali said the body was likely burned sometime overnight Sunday. The head has not been found, he said.
Dayton police spokesman Maurice Speaks said he had no additional information.
Yikes.
Is there a Muslim community nearby? This seems to be their trademark...

Reverend Finds Dismembered Body In Parking Lot

DAYTON, Ohio -- Dayton homicide detectives are investigating the discovery of a dismembered body found in the parking lot of a local church on Hoover Avenue.
The dismembered body was found Monday morning at the Way of the Cross Gospel Ministries Church when the Rev. David Jones arrived to do some work on the old bowling lanes.
Jones said as he pulled up he saw what looked like trash bags on the ground, but said, as he got closer, he realized it was a body. He said he quickly called 911.
The Dayton police homicide squad taped off the snow-covered area near the right of the church. Lt. Bob Chabali said the body was dismembered, burned and was headless.
Chabali said the decapitated body had been burned so badly that police were unable to determine if it was a man or a woman. Detectives said they believe the victim was killed elsewhere, burned and dumped in the parking lot.
Jones said he has had problems with people dumping things near the church. He said the installed a fence, but on Sunday it was left open and unlocked.
Jones told authorities that people constantly come and go and break into the church property. He said crime and drugs are consuming the community.
Dayton police do believe the body was burned sometime overnight because, otherwise, the burning at the church would have attracted unwanted attention.
The coroner's office, late Monday, was able to identify the victim as a 35-year-old male through fingerprints. His identity has not been released, pending notification of family.

You know, I'll admit that I can be as irreverent as anyone, but some of these comments are a little over the top. This is a horrific crime and I don't see anything funny about it.
