MEMPHIS (AP) -- State Sen. John Ford testified in a juvenile court hearing that he keeps two homes and lives with two different women whose children he fathered.
Ford's testimony was part of his defense in a child support case.
The Memphis Democrat heads a Senate committee that guides the state's child welfare policies.
He also authored a law that keeps court-ordered support lower when a father is financially responsible for other children.
In a Juvenile Court hearing in 2004 that is set for a follow-up hearing on Tuesday, Ford said he lives some days with ex-wife Tamara Mitchell-Ford and the three children they had together.
On others, he stays with his long-time girlfriend, Connie Mathews, and their two children.
Ford said he pays nearly all bills for both families.
A third woman is trying to increase the court-ordered support of a 10-year-old girl Ford fathered.
Oy.
And I am unanimous in that.
Sometimes truth is stranger than fiction.
Maybe he's too busy doing to women what he could be doing to his constituency.
"A third woman is trying to increase the court-ordered support of a 10-year-old girl Ford fathered."
Two women, two houeseholds and two sets of children.
When the hell did this guy find the time to father a child by a third?
What'a guy like this doing in the State Senate?
He's got national potential. He could be the next Democrat all-star if he plays it right.
Any relation to Harold Sr or Jr?
He's trying to fulfill a campaign promise: "A Ford in every bedroom."
Let's see 6 children by 3 women ... there seems to be a conflict of interest with his legislative agenda. You think?
Sounds like this guy has Presidential aspirations.
This is the uncle of US Congressman from Tennessee Harold Ford, Jr.(D-TN).
Democrat presidential candidate qualifications alert.
-And I am unanimous in that.-
Heh-heh, "Are you being served" takes on a whole new meaning for this guy, donit?
"Put some ice on it."
Three cheers for families values.
John is Harold, Sr.'s brother and Congressman Ford's uncle.
Obviously it didn't take this guy very long. Wham! Bam! Thank you ma'am!
This sounds like he is a catalog entry from a horse breeding farm.
I was wondering if anybody'd get it...
Well, I mean anybody other than Sen. Ford, who seems to be getting it rather more than he should...
He has Bill Clinton's support and admiration, that's for sure.
