What I find interesting is that this author seems to be an old fashioned Marxist. Although the premises of her ideology are wrong, she is capable of drawing a logical conclusion and presenting a coherent argument based on those premises. Compare that to the dumbed down neo-Marxists on DU. They accept the same premises, but like liberals it's all based on feelings. As recent products of the public school system they couldn't understand real Marxism with it's arguments about dialectical materialism. It's Marxism-lite.

Progressive = Communist

No you misunderstand. Progressive is a term originally used by Communists to describe others on the left who while not Communists aided the "inevitable progress" towards the communist utopia. The idea was to create common fronts with them while in oppostion to the government. Once the Communists assumed power the erstwhile "progressives" who were no longer aiding in "progress" towards communism were liquidated or re-educated. "Progressives" were also known as "useful idiots". The funny thing is that so many on the left have adopted this label for themseleves.

I have for years, and many years before any talkshow hosts made it famous, thought that liberalism was a brain disorder--like organic brain syndrome--that made their thought process 180 degrees out of phase. Also, that there were basically only two kinds of democrats: 1. The abysmally ignorant, and 2. The chronically and criminally dishonest.

Do you really think that all of them are stupid enough to not realize they are useful idiots? I think a great many of them are in category #2 and know it. They're just trying to con us and the stupid dems in category #1.
