It's easy to have a sense of humor about yourself when you're winning ;-)
I guess I didn't even crack a smile because there is something so disrespectful in those remarks of letterman's that I didn't think they werre funny. Besides not one played on anything real about Pres Bush. He is not stupid or gauche or silly. He does have places that he could be made funny but Letterman didn't hit those. For instance, Barney the dog and Bush's lack of control over him is ripe for satire. And the daughters who clearly have Dad around their little finger. And Barbara who is a classic overbearing mother. Letter could have hit on that but he chose to pick the dem characterization. Leno would have done it better.
