There is an element in the Republican Party that are rabid globalist, Free Trade Zoners. They believe that the nation state is dead and that former nations should melt into trade zones. They only mouth their oaths of office, with every intention of doing just the opposite of what they swear to uphold.
Wish this were the only reason. The other reason is that Rich Mrs. GOPer doesn't like scrubbing her own toilet, and she's too cheap to hire someone at an honest wage. She also likes the way illegals bow and scrape and make her feel like Scarlett O'Hara bossing around the house slaves.
