FBI Adds 10 Names to List in Boston Threat
11 minutes ago
By CURT ANDERSON, Associated Press Writer
WASHINGTON - The FBI (news - web sites) on Thursday added the names of 10 Chinese to the list of those being sought for questioning about a possible terror plot targeting Boston.
Two law enforcement officials, speaking on condition of anonymity because of the ongoing investigation, said the names were part of the same anonymous tip that led authorities on Wednesday to announce that they are seeking to question four other Chinese and two Iraqis.
The officials said the tip remains uncorroborated and there is no credible evidence that such a plot exists.
It was unclear why all the names were not announced at the same time. The officials said there was no new information that led to the addition of the 10 names.
A third federal law enforcement official in Washington, also speaking on condition of anonymity, said the tip was received Wednesday by the California Highway Patrol. The tipster claimed the four Chinese two men and two women entered the United States from Mexico and were awaiting a shipment of "nuclear oxide" that would follow them to Boston.
The official said the nuclear oxide could be a reference to material used to make a "dirty bomb" that would spew radiation over a wide area.

What happened to the "two Iraqis"?
They're having trouble keeping the story straight.
Something's up though or there wouldn't be BOLO's.
ping
Interesting. I wonder if we will get photos of the other Chinese guys?
someone posted a thread about a similar story from a message from a yahoo board that had this kind of info last night. I can't find it now. I'll look further.
chinese muslims?
Dumb question: What is a BOLO?
Chinese jokesters,,,not very bright if you ask me.
yep.
They've been slaughtering Christians in China, too.
In fact, it happened not too long ago.
Where are they from, Beijing University?
BOLO = Be On LOokout or something similar. It's law enforcement jargon for "watch for these guys".
Be On the LookOut.
BOLO = Be On the Look Out.
See? We didn't think your question was dumb!
I was playing the straight man. That's exactly what I think.
Can't do that. The principle of separation of church and state requires that we ignore their religion. Actually, the principle of equal rights requires that we ignore their national origin, race, ethnicity, and gender, too. And PETA wouldn't want us to be specists so we should ignore their species. Thus, the first sentence of the story should, in order to ensure political correctness, be rewritten as follows: "The FBI on Thursday added the names of 10 organisms to the list of those being sought for questioning about a possible terror plot targeting Boston.
I'm still concerned that the informer misunderstood the illegals, and they actually said, "Austin."
But, I'm sure the FBI thought of that.
BOLO Nuclear MSG
Plenty of Chinese muslims. They live in various hellhole provinces. According to a publication on mosques in China(1998 edition), there are now 32,749 mosques in the entire People's Republic of China, with 23,000 in the province of Xinjiang.
nuclear oxide = a mixture or cocktail of oxides of uranium, plutonium, etc.
I think the story about the phone call from unidentified mexican is a cover story. They needed to get this story out but not panick anyone so they invented the mexican mule.
What happened to the "two Iraqis"?
:-(
Uyghurs
that is too funny....sounding more like this informer was cheated out of something...
Have they released the other six names?
Uyghurs
Gesundheit!
I agree....they got this info from another source.
I'm sure if this turns out to be a real terrorist threat, John Kerry will be the first to step up and call it what it is.
/sarc
Chinese moslems!
Well, it is still in the story, but we must not know their names and pictures or something.
Having seen some high level government communications,
I wouldn't assume anything about any part of the government being the least bit clever, thorough, creative, able to think outside the box, etc.
IF they hire some quiality people and give them the freedom and incentives to be so, it can happen.
But I wouldn't routinely expect it.
Older orgs and depts. tend to be hide-bound and think as they've always thought.
Look at the link at #9.
"...It goes on to say "If located, detain and hold for questioning. Unknown travel made, may have entered US through NY or Boston. Call San Diego FBI [ ]San Diego, CA.."
Entered through NY or Boston?
Now look at the pic of the four who supposedly came through Mexico, who we have the pics of:
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/050120/photos_ts/mdf828522
See the Spanish words on three of them? What, the Mexican take copies of photographs of visitors and we do not?
Photos of Chinese passports? Mexican visa applications? Migrant cards issued to Chinese? Hmm...
China Hides Its Muslim Separatist War

It used to be a smaller number of chinese and two iraqi's which was pretty generic. But now we know to be only the lookout for 10 Chinese guys wearing BOLO's so that should be easy to find ;-)
Interesting... The story we're running on National Terror Alert, is based in San Diego, where the leads were generated and refers to the original 4 as "Chinese chemists".
Starting to seem like there may be more to this story, than what the press is picking up.
Be On the Lookout For.
The only dumb questions are the ones people don't ask.
I expect the next attack to be carried out by non-Muslim looking people. Even with all our talk about not profiling and political correctness they know they are being watch by every citizen.
Chechens, Hispanics, Asians or stupid gringo leftists like Johnny Jihad can infiltrate with little chance of detection.
All of us must be ever watchful and vigilant.
Green cards too?
......goal....container ships,.....ports,.....railroad yards?
...............? Boston?
This is a vast land of deserts and mountains in the northwest region of the People's Republic of China - a region called the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region. Though this region is primarily desert, the land is highly valued by the Chinese government. Besides the human resources, there are large deposits of oil (with the oil industry centered in the city of Korla), uranium and minerals. Xinjiang serves as a nuclear testing ground (with radioactive contamination reported in several Uyghur towns) and satellite launching pad. The major cities include Urumqi, the capital of Xinjiang Province and the world's most landlocked city; Turpan, an important oasis between the Taklamakan and Gobi deserts; and Kashgar (also called Kashi), an ancient city once visited by Marco Polo and part of the silk road. There are a number of interesting websites including:
I was about to post that also, file photo's.Plus the media is giving this a lot of coverage, getting the pics out to public.Chinese muslims?? I would rather believe hired terrorist.
"September 14, 2004, Capitol Hill, Washington
Fifty years ago (August 27, 1949), a plane carrying the leaders of the Republic of East Turkistan crashed under mysterious circumstances. When the news reached Beijing, Mao Zedong sent in the Communist military, and the occupation of East Turkistan began.
Communist China's lack of respect for the people of my country has been equaled by its disregard for the very land of Eastern Turkistan. We have become a dumping ground for China's environmental waste. Lop Nor, a region known well by your government, is far more than a research center; it has become a profoundly toxic site of nuclear waste. We will never know how many lives have been prematurely ended by nuclear radiation, how many cancers have been spawned, how many children have been born with deformities. The count of my own people is that there have been half million deaths from radiation alone.
Especially if that's all they're wearing.
Isn't that a weapon you throw and it wraps around the prey?
There are Chinese Al Qaeda members....they fought against the Pakistanis last year in and around Wana Pakistan.
