BOSTON U.S. Sen. John Kerry, in some of his most pointed public comments yet about November's presidential election, invoked Martin Luther King Jr.'s legacy on Monday as he criticized President Bush and decried reports of voter disenfranchisement on election day.
Kerry, Bush's Democratic challenger, spoke at Boston's annual Martin Luther King Day Breakfast. He reiterated that he decided not to challenge the election results, but went on to say that "thousands of people were suppressed in the effort to vote."
"Voting machines were distributed in uneven ways. In Democratic districts, it took people four, five, eleven hours to vote, while Republicans sorted through in ten minutes - same voting machines, same process, our America," he said.
In his comments, Kerry also compared the democracy-building efforts in Iraq with voting in the U.S., saying that Americans had their names purged from voting lists and were kept from casting ballots.
"We're here to celebrate the life of a man who if he were here today would make it clear to us what our agenda is, and nothing would be made more clear on that agenda that in a nation which is willing to spend several hundred million dollars in Iraq to bring them democracy, we cannot tolerate that too many people here in America were denied that democracy," Kerry said.
You lost, get over it.
Already trying to mend fences with the moveon and DU goofballs who derided him for "conceding too quickly." He's running in '08.
Ping, Tonk.
For crying out loud. What a loser.
Looks like Lurch has been hitting Tereza's white raisin stash a bit too hard lately.
Tell us, what about Wisconsin and Philadelphia?
You're right- He's setting up for 08. May as well go ahead and make a donation to the Swift Boat vets right now!
When Kerry conceded the day after the election, for a brief second, I actually thought that the man may have some integrity and class. I was actually gratefull that the man didn't drag this country through the mess that happened in 2000. I was like "Atleast he's better than Gore."
This article sure brings me back to reality about the man.
Same story as always. Just laying the F*ing plan for next time to rally up the black vote , It is really sickening. Ï wonder when the Black folks will figure out they are being "played"
As usual the AP reporter aggressively pressed the former presidential candidate on his lies.
Kerry, along with his Democratic supporters, are idiots. They are functional idiots however because they show us what they and their party stand for everyday.
MLK Jr. would roll over in his grave if he knew the people that claim to represent his dream today. How sad.
And another thing. Aren't the Democrat voting districts run and operated by Democrats? If there weren't enough voting machines, who's fault is that?
Every time one of these Democrat idiots speaks, they dig themselves deeper into the hole. First, the Democratic precincts are run by Democrats, so they should be blaming themselves. The reason Democrats stood in line for hours longer to vote is because they are too stupid to read the ballots or follow instructions!
"Voting machines were distributed in uneven ways. In Democratic districts, it took people four, five, eleven hours to vote, while Republicans sorted through in ten minutes - same voting machines, same process, our America," he said.
The best way to keep people needing you is to deny them the knowledge to do better. This is the state of today's Socialist, oops, Democratic party.
"Tell us, what about Wisconsin and Philadelphia?"
Agreed. Republican voters in Dane and Milwaukee counties (WI) were seriously disenfranchised! There are already reports of 10,000 illegal votes in Milwaukee County...Kerry only won Wisconsin by 11,841 votes!!
Looks like Lurch has been hitting Tereza's white raisin stash a bit too hard lately.
Aren't democrat districts run by democrats? J effin'K needs to be punched in the mouth.
FMCDH(BITS)
One of the talking heads on Sunday..Nora O'Donnell.said that Edwards was far ahead of Kerry in lanning and organizing for 2008. I guess he won't do a "Lieberman" and wait for Kerry to decide...so we may well be treated to the sight of the 2004 Dem ticket lambasting each other on the priary circuit..
"What a loser."
A self-serving, egotistical, race-baiting loser! What an old tool J'Effin is!

I think that says more about democrats' abilities to follow the rules.
It is rather digustingly TRANSPARENT, isn't it?
My newest, wonderful dream. John Kerry meets me in a bar, finds out that I voted for Bush, then challenges me to a fistfight in the alley.
Thank you for stating this, Senator. That means that either the Democrats running those districts are stupid, the Democrat voters are stupid, or both!
Conversely, the Republicans running the other districts are smarter, the Republican voters are smarter, or both! HA!
All but Hillary are already running hard to port. Hillary is trying to outflank the GOP already on the right while throwing an occasional bone to the moonbats. It'll be interesting to see Hillary can continue on that path or will be forced leftwards by the moonbats like Dean did to Kerry.
No to both. His running all over the Middle East bashing Bush and the US before our troops in Iraq and leaders in Syria and Egypt show he hasn't changed since his traitorous activities in 1971. I'd like someone to find and post the picture mentioned on W's Fox News program thread last night: the one where he is shown running down the steps of the Capital on 9/11 ignoring others who may have needed his help in escaping what was thought to be an attack on the building.
When Kerry opens his mouth he sounds silly. He is simply making foolish excuses for his own mistakes. Kerry cannot connect to the majority of voters. Kerry remarks hurt the Democrat Party more than help the Democrat Party. Hopefully,
Dean will be selected as the Democrat Party head. Dean and Kerry together will destroy the Demeocrat Party for many years to come because neither understand their attitude and message are large percentage of the party's problems. Negative complaining is not enough to win elections. They must have real solutions to problems.

Although coverage of his Iraq visit was limited, from what I read he'd gone back to his VVAW days of sedition and anti-Americanism. And with the troops, no less!
First, isn't long lines of people waiting to vote a good thing and an especially good thing for Rats? Second, where is the documentation of these 11 hour waits?? Because a Rat makes a charge, does not make it true.
Pray for W and Our Troops
"In Democratic districts, it took people four, five, eleven hours to vote, while Republicans sorted through in ten minutes - same voting machines, same process, our America," he said."
Total BS! I've read right here on FR how many Ohio Freepers in Republican districts had long waits as well.
And NOBODY had to wait 11 hours!!!
Since this session of Congress has begun has Kerry even attended a Senate session or taken a floor vote which is what he is paid to do? Seems like he's been to Iraq, bemoaning our policy, visiting Chirac and bemoaning our policy and at least he's in his home state, bemoaning our policy, but as a US Senator shouldn't he at least be in D.C. bemoaning our policy? IF i showed up for work as seldom as this guy I would be FIRED!Oh, wait, he was fired on Novemeber 2!
11 hours to vote? Where did that happen? Fantasy Land...
This guy is dillusional. Maybe its time to up the medication!
He is a life-long 'self -promoter'; humility has never been his to experience and when pretending a call to the noble. . .he emotes on the crass.
If only, Kerry could/would. . .go wind-surfing. . .forever.
I'm sick of playing nice to these people. This is another form of war people. This kind of rhetoric along with their efforts to challenge the electoral college results shows these people are going all out. There is nothing good about this man or that party. They are wicked people. Look at the results of Bush's praise on the Kerry daughters. In that one Newsweek after the election-one of Kerry's daughters went on to say there is something dark and bad about Bush-that he isn't a good man. These people are insane and yet Bush tries to act like this is acceptable. We do not need a GOP that makes this acceptable. They need to be called what they are.
That would be just hilarious!! Those 2 would have to be the front runners, and you know the silky pony can't open his mouth for more than 5 minutes without stepping in it big time. If he would have been the front guy this go round, the campaign would have been even funnier. He had the advantage of nobody really listening to him this time around. If people really hear him talk it'll be a laugh a minute.
Only if you count the time it took to get from precinct to precinct to vote illegally.
Wish someone would post the location of the Republican Voting Areas. I had to wait over an hour in November and as a Republican I shouldn't of had to wait more than ten minutes. I must have been in a Democrat voting precinct.
And who is responsible for procuring and distributing voting machines in 'Rat districts? 'Rats! I'm tired of Bush being blamed for 'Rat screwups during elections.
Do you have any combat skills?
I still say he should apply for a new job. I hear there's an opening for the Deputy Chief of Police in Baghdad.
What a nutcase; a homely one at that. If there was voter fraud and disenfranchisement, it was on the part of the DEMOCRATS!
Ah yes, but note that he said 'thousands' and not 'millions' of voters were 'suppressed'. President Bush won the vote by more than 3 million, so Kerry still knows he lost.
Read in between the lies.
