DETROIT (AP) Americans will get an idea of what Cadillac's newest model will look like when President Bush rides down Pennsylvania Avenue on Thursday. Mr. Bush will take part in the inaugural parade in a jet-black Cadillac DTS limousine produced by General Motors Corp. It will provide a glimpse of the design direction of the mass-produced version of the 2006 DTS. "General Motors and Cadillac are proud to write this latest chapter in American automotive history," said GM Chairman and Chief Executive Rick Wagoner.

I hope it's armored and bulletproofed.
It is; several tons worth, IIRC.
Hoo-whee! The brothers should swing dubya's way now!
The History Channel did a show on the Presidential Limos. Once it arrives it's taken completely apart and rebuilt. The only part that is original is a part of the chassis.
A liberal lying in the road in protest would be roadkill and the driver would never notice the bump.
Can't wait. Whoever thought of putting Led Zeppelin's "Ramble On" with Cadillac is a genius. I want one every time I see one of those commercials.
actually, it's a STOLC..short take off and landing Caddy..
Is GM putting a Chinese engine in this too?
Is Bush old enough to ride in a Cadillac? Don't you have to be 65 (and living in Florida?).
:-)
Ok, the libs want Bush to scale back (preferably cancel) his inauguration because of the "expense, the war in Iraq, and the tsunami"......Instead....Bush says NO.....has all the inaugural parties etc., AND will cruise to the events in his new and expensive ride. GOOD! It's enough to make the liberals pop a vein!
That was some knee-jerk reactio! Are you ok?
Fire the guy that designed the front end.
I'm sure Bush wouldn't be driving a gas guzzler!
This must be one o' them thar "hy-brids"!
That thing is ugly! Front end looks a little light in the pants if you know what I mean.
Have the Bush Haters started screeching about the cost of it yet?
The grill looks out of proportion to the rest of the car.
What's with those monster windshield pillars? Are those on the production model, or is that part of the armor package. They look like they'd restrict your view out the front.
< Yep, that's ole Nicollo in the reflection. You won't believe the sounds of the motor... Unlike anything I've heard, not truck, not racer, just a low, huge rumble, like a hundred Harleys coming over a hill.
History Channel's "Modern Marvels" recently ran a show on "Presidential Movers" which included footage of this car. You can hear the rumble in it.
Can't wait to see the new one! It appears to me that Cadillac is trying to get more publicity out of this car. I would also imagine that the technologies -- and threats -- are a bit different from the late 1990s when the other car was developed. These are incredible machines.
