Hmmm...

Okay. Doubt it's the same as ours.

So do I. But the link didn't go into that much detail so there's no way of knowing.

If they ban the swastika, they certainly ought to ban the towelhead. Nazis are not going around slitting anyone's throat.

The legacy of the Nazis was death and destruction, they still are apparently an object of fear. I don't think any sane person would look at Prince Harry's costume as anything but a lapse in judgment and taste. To use the incident to further limit freedom of expression in Europe, seems more of tribute to Nazi thinking then this young man's poor choice of costume. I think the abuse the prince has suffered over this is enough and he has learned his lesson. I understand that Harry wants a military career and plans to serve his country rather then be as useless as most of the Royals.

That's quasi-profound. Whether it's goosestepping to Hitler or goosestepping to a new political correctness, it's still goosestepping. By seeking to make the prohibition Europe-wide, the Germans are finding a new way to evade the past. "We are all potential Nazis." No, Hitler came to power in one country.

Ban them, so the next generation remembers EVEN LESS about the Evil that ravaged Europe in the '30s and '40s than the current generation.

Does anybody else realize the motives behind this???

I think the Germans are hoing that the whole world will eventually forget what they did. They will probably try to ban any discussion of Nazism from history books.

I just bought two postcards at a show this weekend that have swastika's on them, along with four leaf clovers and horse shoes. They were made in 1906 and were good luck cards that were quite popular.

Let's just ban all symbols of history and the truth. I can see why it makes Germans itchy.

Not a few of those German's urging complete oblivion of any historical Nazi apparel (except of course for what they have stored away) would also undoubtedly like complete oblivion of the history of the Holocaust.

Perhaps I have missed something, but I have not read or seen anything yet which would constitute evidence that the frame of the Prince's mind is, or was, in sympathy with Nazis.

If persons utilize cellphone cameras surreptitiously - as they are unfortunately starting to do big-time - there are going to be multitudes of persons unjustly compromised in all strata of society. The meaningful context of the image will essentially count for nothing.

There is an element of secretly informing on people in all this that should be troubling to all. Informers are a hallmark of totalitarian societies.

The main stream media and especially the paparozzi seem to believe that they alone are a totalitarian dispenser of the truth.

But who regulates them?

I know a dozen reporters who are due a knuckle sandwich!

Tell that to the 20 year olds serving in our Armed Forces.

I don't need to; there are Sergeants, Captains, Majors, and Generals informing them of this on a daily basis. Being young and making stupid decisions just simply go together. Some make dumber decisions than others; I have yet to meet a person who didn't make a stupid decision when they were young, that they wouldn't have made now that they are older.

There's dumb, and then there's indefensible. This was the latter.

The Prince, The Swastika, and the BBC
By Naomi Ragen

I was watching BBC this morning. In horrified tones, the news people reported the incident of Prince Harry choosing to wear a Nazi officer's uniform, complete with swastika armband, to a fancy dress ball. How could such a thing happen? How stupid! huffed the BBC.

Well, well. After four years of sympathetic interviews with Hamas terrorists; one-sided reports on Israeli "atrocities" like the Jenin "massacre"; widespread and unrelenting coverage of demonstrations against Israel (...), the BBC is shocked.

A new, comprehensive poll of British opinion on foreign nations was just released by The Telegraph. The results: Israel is considered by Britons the #1 'least deserving of international respect,' the 'least beautiful country,' the country Britons would 'least like to take a holiday in,' and would 'least like to live in.'

I think we should excuse the confusion of Prince Harry. He's simply been watching too many BBC programs. So spare us the hypocrisy and the crocodile tears, will you?
