My cousin's son (a Marine), who has served 2 tours in Iraq is now in Indonesia.
Bless our Military
You're Welcome :-)
God Bless your cousin's son and keep him safe. He is a wonderful example of our selfless military.
This is great. I hope we can make it ... I asked Marissa is she wanted to go to a tea party while we are in Washington, DC. She is excited all over again.
I may have to go shopping again ..... I'm sure she will want to wear a hat. :)
Thank you so much for the invitation, FTH.
I haven't seen your calender posts in so long!
We miss you!
Great thread John.
Some off subject info

As he was telling us this background info over the air, Ms. Mapes father called into the show and said that he was ashamed of her! That she was a liberal extremist. LOL No doubt NPR will want to hire her right away.
Okay, I can see I am going to have to re-think what I am packing for this trip....possibly even go shopping. I am going to have to find something less formal than what I am wearing to the ball and but more formal than what I was planning to wear the rest of the time.
I am looking forward to this. Thank you so much for inviting us to tea. :-)
Good evening, you two. (((((((Libertina/JH2)))))))
We are certainly do have time for this! I wouldn't miss the opportunity to meet you and go to tea at the Ritz Carlton. :-)
Glad you were able to do a Driveby, JH2. Another masterpiece.
Tea at the Ritz, eh?
With a Margarita chaser? :)
evenin' MB.
LOL!!
Good evening to you, DD.
Can you tell it's been a long day? LOL. Just as soon as I get the TGIF thread posted I am heading for bed.
"I am going to have to find something less formal than what I am wearing to the ball and but more formal than what I was planning to wear the rest of the time."
Well, actually, there's a whole range of dress for the tea: from flowering prints with hats to business dress casual. Over half the room will simply be wearing dresses or skirts and sweaters, my guess.
So unless you *want* an excuse for a new dress, ;), you don't have to wear something terribly frilly. I already know what I'm going to wear: a simple lavendar print dress. This is a rare occasion to get to wear one's special hat, although few actually do.
(Actually, at this tea, they do serve alcohol -- there's a champaigne and strawberries option on the menu.)
Well, better late than never, but John's essay was, as usual, brilliant and better understood than anything else I have heard trying to explain the incompetence of CBS and Dan Blather! The only comfort that I get out of the fact that Danny Boy wasn't canned is the fact that no one is watching him during his "lame-duck" time left at his job!
