The 'Dukes' filming moves to LSU
By BRETT TROXLER btroxler@wbrz.com 2theadvocate.com staff From a report by WBRZ's Tammi Arender
It may not be the Bo and Luke Duke you remember from your younger days, but the 2005 version of the Dukes of Hazzard takes to Duke cousins to college. For that reason, the stars and crew of the movie -- set to release this summer -- has moved to the LSU campus.
One of the homes on East Lakeshore Drive near the LSU lakes has been transformed into a set for the movie. While most of the movie has been shot in East Feliciana Parish, production moved to Baton Rouge this week because shooting called for a college sorority house.
"Baton Rouge is a city that has enough amenities and variety of location," Production Manager Mark Indig said. "A lot of our photography is rural in nature."
Dr. Bret Rabel and his wife Elizabeth gave up their home for shooting on Friday, after the film company spent the last eight weeks renovating the place.

Can you imagine any of the networks putting that show on today?

I thought the original Dukes of Hazzard was silly. Leave it to Hollywood to try to reprocess assininity and try to make a buck off of it. They're out of ideas and this is all they can do. I predict a box office flop.

Cant wait to see 65 year old Daisy Duke in her shorts.

Okay, this is just stupid and completely demolishes the original premise of "The Dukes of Hazzard." Bo and Luke were on parole and that was why Boss Hogg and Sherrif Coltrane wanted so badly to bust them. Busting them on a Parole violation was easier than getting them for a real crime.

Half of the Hollywood movies these days are remakes of some old comic book, TV show, or movie.
The other half (except for any film by Mel Gibson or Spielberg) is written by vapid homosexual on cocaine.

What's next?
Air Wolf movie
A Team Movie
Etc.. Etc..
There were a ton of those 70s and 80s shows that would make a really Bad Movie.

depends who's hands are on the projects. If you have a no talent like Lucas, you'll get silly garbage, if you put it into the hands of a real fan that cares, like Peter Jackson, you'll get a masterpiece.
The Dukes of Hazzard was and is great, who cares what the rest of you think. No matter what you think, the show lasted 7 seasons, even the critics were against the show, but it outlasted them.
As for the movie, I seriously doubt it will have the same chemistry. I more then likely will not watch it.

Bo and Luke in college?? They and the General Lee would be hounded off campus by the PC nuts. Unless they are secretly gay. I always wondered about Cooter's dirty mustache....hmm
To: DYngbld
Yeah, A-Team would be a logical choice-- phew!

Oh I loved the TV show. I have seen every one several times. I watch it now and it is really stupid, but then I am not a 10-14 year old any more.
The Duke boys going to LSU? I guess you could major in running shine.
