This is more really good news, I think. This will give John Linder a chance to work directly with Bill Thomas and the rest of Ways & Means on tax reform. I also think John will find Chairman Thomas a tremendously resourceful ally in achieving tax reform.

On a related note, I heard Connie Mack interviewed today about the Tax Reform Commission, and he commented that the Commission has been limited in its purview to reviewing and reforming the income tax, NOT the payroll tax. Of course, Chairman Thomas has no such limitation in the work of the Committee on Ways & Means.
