Did anyone see Jennifer Griffin reporting from a tribute in Thailand today? It was one of the most human moments I have seen from a live reporter. She is a great reporter and has pretty much been everywhere and seen all kinds of tragedies. But today she broke down while doing a report at midnight from a gathering for the victims. The enormity of it all finally got past her professionalism and she broke down, but still got through the report. Bless her heart. It was heartbreaking to see.

I could not imagine the scene in Thailand. The last I heard is a possibility of the death toll being up to 400,000. That number has been raised almost daily.

My wife told me of her being so touched by these tragic circumstances. She is a reporter who has been around the block.

I don't see how any reporter could go into that and not be affected. Heck, just being in the hurricanes personally was enough. Can't imagine being a reporter covering the hardest part of all these stories.

tragic isn't it.......i mean some of those small small islands of the Maldives lost every single person on the whole island which some are lie 1/2 mile by 200 yards or so......like the whole entire island was under water..she is a very savvy and empathetic reporter.....

Saw her on one of the networks, CBS I think. Painful to think about, but I dug her too.

We love Jennifer Griffin! Her reports are THE most informative, and full of information the average "Joe" wants to hear about. Poor gal has been in Israel with all the terrorist attacks and now this.... She's been given the burden of reporting mostly bad news, but does it in the most humanitarian way. As a member of her audience, I'd like to give her a big bear hug and give her kuddos for a job well done!!!

I watched it. She was really shaken. And it was understandable. She has been 'one the scene' with all the aftermath of the disaster.

Watching the New Year's arrival was a bittersweet moment, especially for those in SE Asia.

Sorry I missed it. I think it's terrific when reporters show they're human. Our local Anchorman is retiring tonight after about 100 years, LOL! I'll really miss him, though I see him around town all the time.

Jennifer Griffin joined FOX News Channel (FNC) in October 1999 as a correspondent for the Jerusalem bureau and also reported for the network from Moscow. Currently, she is covering Operation Enduring Freedom from Israel. Prior to joining FNC, Griffin covered the Middle East region for several American media organization including the Associated Press, National Public Radio and U.S. News and World Report. Previously, she reported for The Sowetan newspaper in Johannesburg, South Africa, where she covered Nelson Mandela's release from prison and numerous other historic moments in South Africa's transition away from apartheid. Griffin graduated from Harvard University in 1992 with a Bachelor's degree in comparative politics.

Another smart cookie. Fox needs to stay on top of that, and make the cream of the crop want to work for them. So far, so good.

I worked 15 years in the media, and many reporters see events as ways to further their careers. Becoming self centered hardens one heart to the plight of others, unless you can paint that person as victimized by someone ELSE. Glad to see this reporter putting her feelings above her career.

I saw it and was truly touched by her emotion. Jennifer has been reporting from some pretty nasty hotspots (Gaza Strip, etc.) and has seen a lot.

She's a real professional, but the enormity of this tragedy overcame her - it shows that she has a big heart.
