"...who have come together to DEMAND that RICH countries INCREASE AID and make it work better FOR POOR PEOPLE, CANCEL WORLD DEBT and CHANGE RULES OF WORLD TRADE so that they FAVOR THE INTERESTS of the POOR."

This is the most obnoxious thing I've read all day!

So if I were to donate to OXFAM to help with SE Asia relief for the disaster there, my money might go to this politically motivated campaign. Hmmm, my money won't go to them!

It's not only obnoxious, but wrong. Poverty is not caused by the lack of money, it is the result of crime. From the common crime of the city streets that impoverish a neighborhood, to the political crimes committed in the capitals of countries that permit whole peoples to starve.

The problem with resolving poverty by eliminating crime would be the overpopulation of the worlds prisons with its criminals. Rich and poor.

Attn: OXFAM

The European Union, to the best of my knowledge, forbids the production, export and import of genetically-altered food under the guise that it could be "dangerous" or "unhealthy."

So I ask you, when any human is starving are they more worried about the health in terms of days or years?

Duh! Another classic example of where those that demand a certain solution have in fact created the very problem and guaranteed the perpetuation of said problem by their very solution.

Idiots!

More Socialist / Communist wealth transfer schemes designed to remove wealth and power from the entire Western World.

Kyoto died as the biggest con in the last quarter century to attempt to undermine US Industrial capabilities. Now the radical socialist / communist nutcases are doing everything in their power to try to use the "poverty pimp" card as a "moral issue" to undermine the Western World...

America is the REAL target for this crazy wealth transfer scheme. This is just the beginning... And it's just getting started...

Radical new changes coming in a few weeks!!

who have come together to demand that rich countries increase aid and make it work better for poor people, cancel world debt and change the rules of world trade so that they favour the interests of the poor.

I think that what is meant is to increase aid to tin pot dictators, cancel their debt, and change the rules so their families can amass even more wealth.

Notice how we have stopped fighting world hunger.

Why? Because the world, particularly the west, produced more than enough food to feed the world. We GIVE AWAY more than enough food to feed the world. The only reason for starvation in africa is SOCIALISTS, COMMUNISTS, and DICTATORS.

Likewise the only reasons for sustained poverty is socialisms, communism, and dictators.

If this utter BS is pushed through it will not eliminate poverty, it will just make every one poor.

What these morons miss entirely is that it is impossible to eliminate poverty. "Poverty" is (1) a statistical evaluation: the bottom x percentage are in "poverty", or (2) caused by straight-out government theft and murder, as in Zimbabwe, or "covert" government taxes and laws, as in most of Africa, South America, Russia and the like.

"Poverty" doesn't "just happen". Certainly a bunch of Socialists, anarchists and other neer-do-wells, who believe in marxism, or that rich people "stole" their wealth, will not accomplish anything positive. They are like the Roman mob. Just throw them some bread and give them a circus to watch.
