So it seems that there is no going back for Ukraine. Whatever the outcome of the upcoming election, the country will remain deeply divided if not split in two.

What a small world! Quoting Yogi: deja vu all over again!

Before you click on the link below, memorize the following key:

West = Red, East = Blue, Ukraine = U.S.A

I assume from the obvious slant and anger in the article that the writer is a die-hard leftie from Brussels. When they lose an election the answer is: succession. That way, they'll never lose an election again. A marvelous solution that if implemented, we'll have 5 billion countries on this planet!

Troubles continue with Ukraine presidential election

Updated: 12/27/2004 12:45:08 PM - VIDEO

KIEV, Ukraine (AP) - Ukraine's prime minister says he won't concede defeat in this weekend's presidential runoff.

Instead, Viktor Yanukovych says he'll go to the Supreme Court to challenge the results. He told reporters today he'll "never recognize such a defeat" -- citing the violation of constitutional and human rights.

Official results from yesterday's vote gave opposition leader Viktor Yushchenko just over 52 percent of the vote. The prime minister received about 44 percent.

"Count every vote!" :^)

Yanukovych couldn't win via FRAUD so now they'll disregard/not recognize their loss and Yushchenko's administration. Sounds like election 2000. "Yushchenko was SEletcted not ELECTED!" .....

I m happy there is an emerging republic, Malorossyia (the old name for the part thats going to seperate).

Long live the republic of MaloRus!!! (Little Russia)
Yanukovich no longer matters if the election results become official... All of those regions agreed to wait until the 2nd runoff was completed befor they resume their autonomy referendums. As soon as election is certified there will be at least 4 referrendums that were put on hold ergo, Kharkov,Odessa,Lughansk,Crimea (Donetsk canceled its own but will probably start it up again)

An obvious mistake, sorry about that.
