Re the finger pointing:

I'm not a physicist, but if the Mosul attack was really a suicide bomber, and not a rocket attack, isn't it better that it happened in a tent, instead of in an enclosed steel and concrete bunker?

Good point! At least the blast and some of the shrapnel could escape through the point of least resistance.

Yes in the tent it limited the amount of ricochet of shrapnel... it it were in an enclosed cement/steel area the walls would cause the "pellets" that were found on scene to ricochet around like super balls.
