Why should a school NOT recognize a day which is important to 80% of the American people? Black history month is set aside in celebration of black heritage. Why not a season in honor of Christian heritage? It unites Christians of very different theological views, so it is hardly divisive, Jews have taken to celebrating Hanukkah, which is a minor Jewish feast, simply because it falls at the same time of year, and Christians have gone alone with this, in part because it is part of Christian "prehistory."
