NEW YORK (Reuters) - A portrait of President Bush (news - web sites) using monkeys to form his image that was banished from a New York art show last week amid charges of censorship was projected on a giant billboard in Manhattan on Tuesday.

"Bush Monkeys," a small acrylic on canvas by Chris Savido, created the stir last week at the Chelsea Market public space, leading the market's managers to close down the 60-piece show.

Animal Magazine, a quarterly arts publication that had organized the month-long show, said anonymous donors had paid for the picture to be posted on a giant digital billboard over the entrance to the Holland Tunnel, used by thousands of commuters traveling between Manhattan and New Jersey.

The original picture will be auctioned on eBay, with part of the proceeds donated to parents of U.S. soldiers wishing to supply their sons and daughters with body armor in Iraq (news - web sites).

Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld came under fire from soldiers in Kuwait earlier this month who complained that they had to use scrap metal to armor their vehicles.

"Many of my friends are over in Iraq," Savido said in a statement.

The painting offers a likeness of Bush but the image is made up of monkeys swimming in a marsh. It was originally priced at $3,500 in the show's catalog.

Organizers expect more than 400,000 drivers to see the billboard each day for the next month.

So long as this bozo isn't getting tax dollars for his "art," no; however, I will say that this so-called artist is showing off his extreme stupidity. I pity him.

"Many of my friends are over in Iraq," Savido said in a statement.

His friends are the "insurgents."

***...banished from a New York art show last week amid charges of censorship....***

It's interesting that when the owner decided to cancel the show, it was called censorship. Yet, the owner merely expressed his OWN opinion, and he's not allowed to have one. So, once again only the liberals can have an opinion.

In any event, I suspect the show was cancelled because merely removing one picture would give the socialists more ammo to sue for discrimination.

This will hurt Bush as much as did Michael Moore's antics.

"The stinking liberals continue to show thier intellect."

Speaking of liberals showing intellect, I was having a nice online discussion with a girl who is in Iceland today. We were talking about being nice to others and doing things for no other reason than because it's the right thing to do.

And then she said it.

" I always thought all Americans were ignorant or conservative but I guess I was wrong."

She was shocked when I read her the riot act and called her a biggot. I was so far outside her little stereotype that she couldn't comprehend that I was one of those very "ignorant conservatives" that she couldn't stand.

It can be easily ignored.

They continuously called Lincoln a baboon and a gorilla. Bush is in good simian company.

As long as they are in a strait-jacket they can sell crazy all they want.

They think this kind of drivel impresses the American people and will make them vote for them. We should encourage this belief.
