Your analysis is a disgrace. What evidence do you have that this was "consensual sex"? It sounds to me like this US "soldier" committed an act of rape on an Iraqi minor and then, in an act of self loathing or whatever (fear of being ratted out?), killed the kid to cover up his crime.
This monster is a pedophile and a murderer. 25 years to life? He deserves a firing squad. You form your conclusions on the basis of the last man left standing, the perpetrator? Not even a homosexual-hating bigot could be this dense.

NO, my analysis is not a disgrace, the acts of this guardsman are a disgrace to his country and uniform.

Fags have no right to pollute our military. We get to act righteously indignant because this is the first instance, we know of, that a sexual killing crime has been committed by one of our troops. Unfortunately, this SSAD person displayed the extreme deviate characteristics stereotyped by his ilk.

Every army, even a highly professional all-volunteer force like the U.S. Army will have some very bad people in it. This guy sounds like he is among the worst. As you point out, this could have been a rape-murder. 25-to-life sounds lenient.
This soldier is no use to anyone. If we don't have the guts to handle this, turn him over to the Iraqi government for prosecution.

I believe you're right. There is no proof that this was consentual sex. This murdering soldier told so many lies before coming up with the story that it was consentual sex. Lets not forget that by our standards the 17 year old kid was STILL a minor. Also, I think many rapists, whether hetero or homosexual, convince themselves that it was consentual. Now that his victim is dead, he can keep claiming it was consentual until he dies.
My sympathies go out to the kid's family. After so many years of living under Saddam's tyranny, they shouldn't have lost their son at the hands of a very sick American soldier.
