"they'd best run a real conservative instead of another RINO. "

Who, other than Chaney? Can you name one Governor or Senator who is positioned to run for President in 2008 who even comes within a light year of being as conservative as Bush?

Only a FReeper would fail to realize that Bush is the most conservative president in history and that it is a miracle that he got elected.

I like Bush. I voted for him twice. But let's make one thing very clear: a Conservative would not run up the debt; a Conservative would not assent to signing the Assault Weapons Ban (thank God it never passed Congress); a Conservative would not leave our borders wide open and bend over backwards for the corrupt Mexican government to make it easier for illegals to work here; and a Conservative would not be peddling this "religion of peace" bullcrap.

Again, I'm grateful that Bush defeated Gore and I'm grateful that Bush defeated Kerry...and I know that Bush is a man of deep faith, but a lot of his policies are decidedly NOT conservative.

Totally disagree. We're probably going to be running against Hillary Rodham Clinton.

Now, what is Hillary's greatest weakness? Her policies? Her views change with each focus group. She could easily run to our right, get into office, and then do whatever she pleases. Probably not do much policy, and instead use her office for personal enrichment and retribution against her enemies, like her husband did.

Her greatest weakness is her lack of principle, and her opportunism. You beat her by having principles, values, a core set of beliefs. That's not many of these "front-runner" candidates. But it might be Rick Santorum, or Mark Sanford.

If we run a RINO, and especially a RINO with poor morals like Giuliani, there will be an equivalence between our candidate and Hillary. And this party will split down the middle, and she'll trample right over the RINO. Just like her hubby in 1992.

ROFLMAO.

You have got to tell me why you think that Bush is the most conservative president in history. Please. I've already made the other folks in the office look at me for laughing at that comment. I need the laughs--please elaborate and give me another chuckle.

And as to Governors or Senators who are as conservative as Bush and (here's the rub) are positioned to run, no, because there are only two Pubbie Senators who are known nationally, noisy, and obviously angling, Trent Lott and John McCain. Not that many Pubbie guvs are out there nationally. Maybe Jeb Bush or Arnie or Pataki, but after that, recognition level as far as the voters go drops way down. Never mind that. There's a lot of noise to be made in Iowa and NH that will wake people up between now and 2008. Nobody knew who the heck Dean was before 2003. But there are far more options and they will be better known after the feelers start getting put out in Iowa and NH and the various straw polls.

My money is on a guy whose dad is better known nationally than he is--George Allen, R. Va.--but he's gotta get past Warner in the next election before anything else can happen.

I have a bone to pick with George W for not making Condoleeza rice his VP and Dick Cheney his NSA and always close confidant. Bush just left the Republican Party without a candidate in 2008 as your talk clearly indicates. Dole ? Cheney ? get a life guys...do you love humiliating defeat? I do not believe Giuliani has the right stuff to win a national election. I like him but Condoleeza Rice is a better and more deserving candidate.
