PEST: We'll Soon Feel Their Pain
by Chris Shugart, 10 Dec, 04
Ive been getting a kick out these reports Ive been reading about Post Election Selection Trauma. Like many, I thought it was a joke at first. But psychologists across the nation are reporting that theyve been providing counseling for despondent Kerry voters. Ill admit I think the whole thing has been funny, but Im predicting that somewhere not too far down the road, its not going to be funny anymore. I say this because I know where this sort of thing leads just about every time. Im familiar with the behavior pattern of self-proclaimed victims: their pain eventually becomes our pain, and I dont think weve heard the last of PEST .
We havent heard the last of these chronically depressed Kerry voters because we havent heard from the lawyers yet. Victimhood is only the first step towards the inevitable lawsuit. We havent seen a case yet where a Kerry voter demands workers compensation because the Bush election has rendered them disabled. Call me cynical, but I think that ones coming. Its only a matter of time.
We havent seen the class action suit yet either. Im waiting to see a bunch of disgruntled Democrats ask for damages from the Republican Party, accusing them of causing the Democrats pain and suffering for which they will demand compensation. The Republicanscrime? Winning the election.
As absurd as all this may sound, Im boldly making my prediction now. I expect in the next few months to see some inane Democrat try to make the claim that the GOP owes them for therapy fees, or something similarly ridiculous. Never underestimate the unbridled sense of entitlement of the liberal victim. And definitely never underestimate how far lawyers will go to extract money from those who have it.
And heres an unsettling thought: 55 million Kerry voters wandering about in a dazed jumble of confusion and depression. Well, on the bright side, I hear Canadas got free health care.
We'll be feeling it very soon in Washington state.
Chic diagnosis. The only, only reason this diagnosis is getting traction is to obtain and ICD-9 diagnosis attribution to this phenomenon so the psychologists can get paid by the government and insurance companies. These idiots who present themselves to a shaman to deal with their disappointment about the election need to go to work and get on with their live. They have too much time on their hands. Get a job hippies.
This doesn't appear to be a syndrome as much as a disease. An EDTD - election day transmitted disease. If Dems want to stop the spread, they need to stay home on election days. Abstinence is the only answer.
Heaven help us all, but I think you've hit the proverbial nail on the head.
"They have too much time on their hands. Get a job hippies."
Let them end their miserable lives..."pesticide"
Be sure to they know the post-election suicide hotline number: 1-800-BUSH-WON.
Just too damned bad that some people continue to feed on the public mammary into the winter of their years. And, as far as I am concerned, their winter can't end soon enough.
"What they really have is Adult Stress Syndrome."
Great acronym!

My guess is that, in a landmark decision, a court will declare Ohio mentally incompetent and will award power of attorney to New York.
WHERE oh WHERE is that right hand resting? Judging by his expression...
